See if you can follow the tortured logic of Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN) as he tries to explain how limiting spending for End of Life Care based upon the patients ability to pay "isn't" rationing.

He even recommends "letting the family and patient decide"... which is EXACTLY the "Living Will" provision of "ObamaCare" that Sarah Palin turned into "Death Panels".

2. "Autopilot won't work." What is that supposed to mean?
Doctors need to be paid to counsel patients on what their choices are. Doctors are bound by their ethics, by the Hippocratic oath to save lives. The "autopilot won't work" statement and the stance that people who can't afford to pay for the health care they want as they face death are just cop-outs.

Say what you mean, Gov. Daniels. You seem to really mean to say that the rich should live long and prosper, but the poor -- well? They should get the healthcare they can afford. That's really what you are saying isn't it, Gov. Daniels.

Gov. Daniels, you are not being honest here, and you are shifting responsibility to the doctors and then blaming them when they decide on end-of-life issues according to their ethical standards. Shame on you on this one.

4. end-of-life counseling aka 'death panels'
NEED TO KNOW | Atul Gawande on end-of-life counseling | PBS

As the Health Care Reform Act is attacked in courts and Congress, Need to Know discusses the quiet removal of one controversial provision, funding for end-of-life counseling (so-called "Death Panels") with Dr. Atul Gawande, author and medical writer for The New Yorker.
