6. No, it is just what he said in the SOTU and has been saying since. It is a balanced, centrist

approach and exactly the right approach, that is if you understand mainstream America.

14. Balanced?
To call a position that sits roughly in the middle between conservative and radical fascist "balanced" stretches credulity to its breaking point.

15. Let's see if I can say this correctly: What leap? He was always a HUGH conservative.
His campaign was a tissue of lies.

How was that?

2. God, can he please retire the fucking Win The Future line already
People are frustrated, afraid and angry about The Present, and there's no prospect of any concrete improvement because he's trying to prod a recovery through free trade expansion, extending the Bush tax cuts, getting rid of "burdensome regulations" the Chamber of Commerce finds distressing, and spending cuts.

I doubt the people whose LIHEAP he's pledging to cut are worried about The Future, they're worried about The Winter.

4. You are wrong. Democrats EXIST to look ahead, make "progress", and WIN THE FUTURE, not to mire in
the "present" or return to the past like the RePukes. He is talking about investing in education, infrastructure, and job-producing innpovations for the future which is what PROGRESS is all about. And his proposals are centrist, just as they should be. Don't just see one side of the coin. On the other is cuts in military spending, NO PERMANENT tax cuts for the rich, and the kinds of investments we need, all of which most RePUKES loathe.

3. This guy's SO out of touch
At least, out of touch with those who's vote he took office on. At just what point do we put an (R) next to his name???

5. I suppose you felt the same way about Bill Clinton who left office with a 60% approval. YOU are out
of touch. Your Sanders/Kucinich type dream ticket is just that, a pipedream that will NEVER happen and could NEVER win a national election. The economy is improving, and Obama will win in 2012 by at least as much as he won in 2008 if not more. I will bet anyone on it.

13. The economy IS improving
you're right about that. And the strange thing is you NEVER hear as much about that save for a few pundits pointing it out. The White House??? This is SOME KIND of strategy.
And the deafening SILENCE regarding the assualt on unions.... shit, I'll PAY FOR that comfortable pair of shoes he said he'd buy so he could walk with union members!

11. What does he mean by invest in America?
What does America manufacture? What are the chances that young adults who aspire to get college degrees can find meaningful work that pays for their college educations? What jobs are available that are not w/i the military-industrial-big-pharma complex? What is the future for college students who want to be public educators????

17. You aren't capturing the DU spirit:. Make a list of every progressive goal since the dawn of time.
Focus exclusively on those that Obama has not addressed, either tonight or yesterday or maybe something that is in the works but not yet completed. Get angry as hell, compare him to Reagan and Bush43, and let everyone know how TOTALLY PISSED OFF you are that he sold us out.

Ignore what he did with DOMA. Pretend what happened with DADT never happened at all. No health care bill, etc. Just carry on endlessly. And, if someone dares to defend Obama, tear their fucking head off. It's not hard, and it certainly doesn't require any thought at all.

18. The Post-Caesar Triumverate had the Collegia...
...placate the masses by distrubuting bread and fish in place of addressing their real grievances.

That's what this big distraction is all about.

I'm a bisexual man but I can see a ton of really really big problems that are affecting more than the bi/gay/transexual crowd!

What really important event occured when we suddenly heard the whole arguments about DADT? The Taxcut extension!

What really important event is occuring while we suddenly hear an announcement about DOMA? The Wisconsin Union Protests.

The White House, and Obama are attempting to placate us. We shouldn't stand for it.
