I don't know or care. I hope he is. That would mean that not only only "nasty liberals" (like me) are realizing what is happening to our country. I recently moved from Indiana (Local #60 Carpenters), to Tennessee, for health reasons. The majority of the people here are anti-Union. They have been fed the propaganda so long that they fervently believe it. Except the "double-dippers" who work at the military base after they retire from the Army. If they looked up, they would drown. Honestly, I grew up here, worked my way through college as a carpenter, and I believed it too. When I moved to Indiana, I worked (still) as a non-union carpenter. 12 hour days and many side jobs to support 4 children on low pay and no benefits. In Tn. as in IN., I volunteer with the local schools and help their baseball teams. I am disabled now and subsist barely. However, I watch the bulk of the parents. They earn little money and struggle with the high costs of keeping our children in sports. Whenever I mention that I am disabled through the carpenters Union, I see the "look." The one that says "a lazy, overpaid Union member." I worked harder in the Union than out of it. I knew that we had a "hall" full of people just as qualified as I was. If I slacked off, the company would "double check" me and call the hall for a replacement. I saw it happen daily. Often, I had to do it. I know that if these parents belonged to a Union, what a positive impact it would have on their lives and their families lives. Whenever (seldom), I have felt comfortable enough (with usually a construction worker father)to casually mention the difference Unionization made in my life, I have NEVER had anyone inquire any further about it. It saddens me, but I remember being the same way. I pray that our nation can overcome the decades of propaganda and that people can experience a Union and make their own choice. Similarly, when I mention the huge and increasing chasm of wealth distribution in America, I see the "look" from the same struggling people. The ones who have to go to pawn shops and car title "loan" companies. Sometimes, late at night, I weep for our country. I KNOW many of the laws, rules and lies that must be changed in order for these good people to fathom their worth and possibilities. I also see the parents and players who walk around with an air of entitlement. They have the time to be there. No hardship acquired. They treat me like a loser. When I work the gate and collect entry fee's, they speed through, don't stop, then park. When I confront them, they act like I stink and they shouldn't have to pay to enter. Although their children have equipment that costs more than my truck. They complain, and some have even tried to "boss" me. Lol, "that dog don't hunt" as we say here.....
