3. Robin Vos is

spitting out Republican talking points. He doesn't give a damn about the people who work in Wisconsin. If he's like any other Republican, its all about how much he can make and give to to his rich Republican buddies. He's a corporate suck up.

4. Vos actually called the bill "a modest proposal"...
...I wonder if he knows the source of that phrase...

...probably not.

5. I have a lot of respect for Dean but either he doesn't know or won't say why the states are in the
financial hole and that is quite simply the burst real estate bubble and all of the shady financial instruments that went along with the bursting bubble. Credit Default Swaps, Collateralized Debt Obligations contributed to declining real estate prices and thus declining property tax collections. Why won't Dean and other democrats say that it's the banks that have caused the financial mess? Could it be that the both political parties get their campaign cash from the same source? Me thinks so.

7. Ever since he was effectively forced out of the Democratic Party leadership
Howard has been getting his "cash," as you put it, from nowhere except speaking engagements and a nominal
presence at a law firm. He may get some kind of pension from the State of Vermont from his time as Governor,
I never asked him that. But here, he was addressing the specific question at hand, and it would have been
a distraction to start in on the banks, etc. The specific question here was about why there was a crowd out
there angry enough to lynch the Republican tool arguing against Howard, and I think he stayed on message
effectively. Kudlow would have cut him off had he strayed from the immediate subject, and while Kudlow is
an egotistical, nasty blowhard, he would have had a point, and wasted the few seconds Howard had to refute
the right-winger from Wisconsin. Howard did just fine.

6. What are they chanting in the background?
"Hey hey! Ho ho! Union busting has got to go!" That's all this is about. Not about increasing contributions to health care or pensions. It's the elimination of collective bargaining, period. Republicans are seizing on a year where they won with pathetic voter turnout and are claiming it as a mandate to do all the repugnant conservative wet dream ideas they have had for decades, essentially threatening to return us to a feudal state.

8. Don't you love Republican code speak
Vos, at the end, says they stand with the 'taxpayers of the state'. So the people protesting don't pay taxes, the government workers don't pay taxes, the teachers and police and firemen don't pay taxes? 'Taxpayer' is Republican code speak for the conservative wealthy, the corporations and the big contributors to their campaigns. Dean is right this is all about union busting but if the Vos tried to push it as 'we need to get rid of unions' it wouldn't fly. The Republicans have ridden this 'taxes are bad' pony for so long that it has become their reason for just about everything they do because they know they have convinced a large segment of the country that 'all taxes are bad' so they just figure out a way to make their talking points about taxes and the lemmings follow right along.
