4. I hope you mean Scott.
This decision is short sided. Even if we buy into the often repeated Republican myth that the solution to our energy shortfall is simply more drilling, oil, in fact, is a diminishing finite resource. The least painful way to deal with this is to expand mass transit everywhere we can. FWIW Ohio's Republican Governor Kasich made the same bad choice.

13. I did
The argument that I keep hearing from anti-rail voices is that they "don't work"(c-span caller, I shit you not), and "aren't worth it" which is just completely wrong at its face.

As a Central Floridian I was already looking forward to being able to visit my friends, all of whom live in Orlando, more often without having to shell out 60$ worth of gas for a short weekend visit. Guess that won't be happening now.

15. Funny how "it won't work" but
it works quite well in Japan, France and Germany.

Will make sure California gets the High Speed Rail project going..It be nice to be the first state to have it, and we could certainly use the jobs, here in California.

5. I really think Republicans everywhere
have bought into a national strategy of crippling the economy in the hopes of electing a Republican senate and president in 2012.

17. I've been thinking that for a year and the banks and Corp. are guilty too.
Corporations won't hire and make workers work harder and longer.
Banks won't lend to people to buy homes, or to business to expand as the bums sit on trillions.

All this means NO HIRING...NO CONSTRUCTION...NO JOBS...NO OBAMA! It's such a simple strategy. I can't believe someone in the Media doesn't bring up this fact. Maybe their corp owners don't want the gullible public to wise up.

What gets me is if the Rethugs get in office...the corp. will start hiring, banks will start lending and wallah the economy will start booming and the damn rethugs and all their cuts will get the credit. Make me sick!

I suspect the election process has been seriously compromised.

14. I've been wondering about his eligibility
I mean, after being the head of a company that stole billions from medicare and getting away with his golden parachute it just blows my mind that this guy would even be allowed to run much less not be in jail for the rest of his life.

11. HE is concerned for tax payers? NOW?!??!?
Hey DICK, where was this deep fiscal concern for taxpayers when you were amassing your personal fortunes on the backs of Medicare and Medicaid FRAUD you piece of shit? $600M fine for fraud ring any bells?

We need to seriously start considering taking to the streets across the nation. The only thing that frightens them is the mob. We have no justice. A man like DICK should be worrying about dropping the soap and whatever sexual peccadilloes his prison husband has in mind instead of finding more ways to fuck up the future of this country.

Florida is a shame on this nation for electing anyone with his history in the first place. Clearly, actions and crimes no longer carry any stigma or consequences in America.

I don't live in Florida, and so don't have much stake here-- but this guy embodies the worst of our politics.

18. If, in 1811, you had asked a typical New Jersey citizen whether he would
use a train to go to Chicago, what do you think he would have answered?

People are simply shortsighted. Airplanes for domestic travel will one day be a thing of the past, like it or not.

I am riding trains more and more often and love them more and more. They are so, so, so much more comfortable than planes -- and so carefree. Plus if there are luggage restrictions, I haven't noticed them. Perfect for longer trips or times when you want to carry gifts or many items.

19. How much money did airlines contribute to Rick Scott's campaign?
Anybody know? Would we be shocked to find out if it were a lot?
