" It looks like Donald Trump wants to run for President because he viciously attacked Obama during his CPAC speech today and listed his creds for the job, but then cluelessly threw Ron Paul under the bus..."

5. speaking of viability
Similar to how Ron Paul has zero viability, so does the entire Republican field of presidential nominees. It's not necessarily the lack of a worthy candidate for Republicans, but more a result of Obama going to beat anyone no matter who it is.

Modern presidents have always won reelection when their approval rating is 50% or higher. With Obama moving to the middle-left in how he governs, he will broaden his appeal and easily have an approval rating above 50%. Right now Gallup has Obama at 47% approval.

7. He is 100% correct though
Ron Paul is against unnecessary wars and wants the Fed Reserve audited.

The average Tea Bagging Conservative loves their wars. That's the only they get "Support the troops' and kill brown people.

And the elites won't allow someone in that wants to audit the Fed.

13. Actually...
There is a significant rift in The Tea Party movement. Half are Ron Paul people (who can lay claim to having actually started the modern Tea Party Movement with the Dec 16th, 2007 Tea Party/Money Bomb) which was a reaction against George W. Bush. The other half, is as you pointed out, made up of drooling Sarah Palin followers who love war and such.

8. "Cluelessly"? Ron Paul is a libertarian (tea partier), so they are not same party, really.
Trump is a traditional Republican.

Trump is just increasing his brand, so to speak, and getting more publicity. You're talking about him, right? His name's in the news.
