The Inauguration protest in Madison had an estimated 2,000 people in the frigid weather that came out to voice their opinion on Scott Walker’s swearing in ceremonies. Interestingly, the flags around the Capitol building were flying at half-mast.

This video shows a little of the protest event before Scott Walker was sworn in.

Scott Walker's ruthless agenda to slash government spending at the expense of those who need help was largely hidden during his campaign for governor.

Although he said for a year he wanted to put time limits on BadgerCare Plus, for example, which could mean kicking 150,000 people off the program, when it became news he changed course and denied that was his plan.

Now that he's won, of course, everything is fair game. You can bet BadgerCare is back on the cutting board.

But SeniorCare, not discussed during the campaign, made be the top priority for cuts or elimination.

Walker's appointment of Dennis Smith as secretary of the Dept. of Health Services should have seniors and their families very concerned. Smith was the Medicaid chief under President George

3. Indeed!
Walker isn't going to raise taxes... he's just going to cut programs for the poor, the elderly, children and the unemployed. Recall time begins today.

4. Is there a time period of a year before that can be put into play?

6. I think a recall petition can be brought about after a year
It has to have several thousand signatures before it's put on a ballot.

Here's the Wisconsin petition form:

8. There would need to be a carefully organized drive
to recall Walker, not just people going around with petitions. There are administrative rules to comply with and a set time period in which to get the signatures. Doesn't hurt to start thinking about it now, though.

7. That's right!
Not sure what happens if (when) we get the half million signatures on recall petitions--whether the lieutenant governor becomes governor (God help us if that happens), or if there's an election for a new governor. When I have more time I'll research it, unless somebody else knows.
