1. Yes they are.
It astounds me just how far down into the mud they have sunk since Dim Son and his minions at the FCC packed NPR supervising agencies board with right wingers.

And it has spread out to even my home states formerly excellent public radio - MPR. It's really kinda pathetic. Just this morning I turned it on and had to turn it off as they had a rep from KIPP schools on for a full hour of "gee, ain't we wonderful" advertising/programming. And the host just sat there and didn't challenge any of the BS. Not a peep.

This country is becoming so right wing it makes my teeth ache.

3. I don't disagree with your assessment
Just remember though, that it's public radio. You can get involved, you can organize fellow listeners, and you can change your local public radio station. Also, it should be noted that your local public radio stations is not NPR. They only buy programming from NPR. There are many, many production companies they could be buying programming from (most much cheaper than NPR) so don't be afraid to tell your local station you don't like the NPR programming and you want something different. One person will likely be seen as a crank, but if you organize and they feel their pledges and underwritements are threatened, they will listen. Finally, why not consider volunteering at your local station. They probably really need the help, and someone on the inside will be listened to much more.

2. I hope someone high up at NPR is listening.
Perhaps they could give Hartmann a show.

4. They aren't
The current NPR chief, Vivian Schiller, pretty much hates radio and has publicly declared that NPR will not be in the radio business in 10 years. One of the reasons NPR recently made it so that their initials don't stand for anything is because they don't want their brand associated with radio. They want you visiting their website, listening to music and watching videos. NPR considers itself a media company now, and not public radio (although they'd very much like to keep their CPB funding, thank you).

8. NPR = National Petroleum Radio
I have to give my friend, Greg Palast credit for that.
He wrote the book, Armed Madhouse.

9. Actually I'm hoping that Msnbc gives Hartmann a show. Maybe he can start by filling in for Joey Scar
that is, if Thom has time, now that he is an author of a motion picture!

5. There is a reason the fright wing hates NPR
Murdock and cronies see NPR as the last independent news organization left and they will stop at nothing to eliminate them.
Lose NPR and prepare to be totally assimilated!

6. Hey Thom: Did you ever think the Right is just trying to give NPR (and Obama)....
street cred with liberals? "Hey, if the Tea Party thinks NPR are Nazis (or Obama is a Socialist), maybe they're not so bad after all?

Here's my take: if Fox IGNORES a news outlet (like, say DemocracyNow or TheRealNews) then they have more credibility with me.
