1. Tom Delay used to do this, too. I guess it worked.

A doctor in our small town got one of the Tom DeLay "awards" and there was an article in the local newspaper, complete with pictures, about him winning this "award". I had to laugh. He just showed publicly that he was a fool.

2. This guy was forced to resign from the House of Representatives

because of his shady dealings and fined $300,000. Which I don't think he has paid as of yet. He also sent a bad check of $10,000 to the IRS which took him years to make good. How any body could even listen to this guy is beyond me. But then what are republicans. The are all a bunch of scam artists that's how come they are in congress.

Newt's scam is only half a step above the "I can't get at my fortune" e-mail phishing scam. You know the one: "Dear Your Name Here I have a business proposition for you: I have a million buck in a bank account in Ghana which I need your help to get out. I'll send you a check for $5000, you deposit it and send me a check for $5000, then I can give you your cut. Signed, some shady guy in Africa"
