1. the problem with this is that
Bennett shifts the responsibility to the Deficit Commission, aka "The Catfood Commission." He is not taking a stand in favor of retaining Social Security, as the Commission is well known to be leaning toward destroying Social Security (and medicare) to "address the deficit."

Hopefully Rachel will get around to addressing this as well. When my Congressman pulled this tactic we forced him to take an actual stand and sign on to the Grijulva letter to Obama standing for Social Security and against any attempts by the Commission to weaken it including changing the age for receiving it.
