Summary: Cenk has some strong disagreements with NY Times Columnist and author of http://us.macmillan.com/boilingmad|Boiling Mad> (a book about the Tea Party movement) Kate Zernike in this interview. Cenk's main point is that the movement was co-opted by right wing billionares to protect their personal financial interests. Therefore they are "suckers" who are actively fighting against their own interests. Zernike thinks Cenk is overstating the influence of the Koch Brothers and groups like FreedomWorks and Americans For Prosperity.

1. She's not a reporter - she's an advocate marketing the Tea Party to the mainstream.

2. Another important point. They caused or supported the policies that caused the problems. And
noticed these problems about the time Obama took office.

They will never be legitimate.

4. She's right about unions.
They do bus people to events and we do have t-shirts and signs. The difference is that Unions are member organizations where we pool our money together to achieve policy for the middle and working class. These astroturf groups use the suckers to maintain the status quo death grip on power. The difference is that the Unions use human capital to try to move policy and achieve some measure of financial parity. The Teabaggers are human livestock that is being used by billionaires to keep parity and equality down.

5. There are places in America in which people making $200,000 per year
are considered to be nearly wealthy. They are the pillars of their communities, the local real estate agents, etc. So, yes the tea-baggers may feel more wealthy than their incomes might suggest if compared to national averages. Yet they may be considered pretty prosperous in the small towns in which they live.

6. If you make $200,000 where I live
you are not only wealthy, you are downright rich. And that's the truth.

7. Boiling stupid?
Boiling wrong? Boiling misinformed?

The fact is, this Teabagger movement has been blown way out of proportion to their numbers because they represent and defend the interests of corporate America. They are NOT a genuine grass roots movement. Of course the M$M is in the tank for the Teabaggers. Because the M$M is also in the tank for the corporations the Teabaggers represent.

The lady Cenk debated is a very skilled mouthpiece but she has been effectively brainwashed. Of course anyone interviewing a random Teabagger will hear, "Oh, we are completely grass roots. No one is controlling our message." If you chose to believe this nonsense you have been HOODWINKED.

The Tea Party is the Republican Party. The ones they call moderates are the ones who don't want you to see them get their hands dirty. They prefer a more clandestine approach.
