1. Ever heard of marginal tax rates, Linda?
She knows better. She is just shilling on behalf of her cheap and abusive husband. :puke:

4. They always say raising their taxes is a tax on small business.
If you have a personal income of 200 large or more from your business you are doing pretty well! I won't believe that a business owner that runs a company with a net profit of around 200 thousand is going to be hurt by the tax cuts expiring. They sure make it sound like that's what will happen though.

6. One of my clients has been on FOUR 2-week Maui vacations this year...
...and he bought a fully loaded brand new Ford SUV.

And every time I see him he cries about the recession.

And I haven't gotten a lick of work from him since August 2009.

He owns a very, VERY successful restaurant.

5. How much of the personal tax savings will a business person plow back into their business?
Last I knew business owners only get taxed on income they receive as salary. Last I knew any profit in the business that stays in the business operation is not taxed as personal income.

Now for Linda McMahon, I think there should be an exception.

7. I always hear them say that many small businesses file as
individuals. Sure, but they don't have to do they? They would only do that if there was an advantage to it. I'd be willing to bet that someone right on the 250 grand line can buy some equipment or whatever and avoid the tax hike. If it forces them to do that it's all good.

11. "As I talk to small businesses all over the state of Connecticut, they're telling me 'look, I'm
not gonna grow; I'm not gonna go over that level. I'll lay somebody off. I won't take that next job. I can't work any harder, and I'm just not gonna work anymore for the government."

Wow, Linda! You sure are in touch with small business owners. I'm sure the dialogue between you and all of these overtaxed Connecticut entrepreneurs is taking up a lot of your valuable time! How do you manage?

It's just amazing the knack you Republicans have for finding "small business owners" who are making _just_ enough that repealing the massive $700 billion Bush tax break for the uber wealthy would force each and every one of these Mom & Pop business owners (bless their hard working hearts) to lay someone off. Or, as with Joe the Plumber, that business they swear up and down they're planning to buy always grosses _just_ the most teency weency bit too much to avoid paying the (relatively small) tax increase that they swear will singlehandedly cause them certain financial ruin.

It's miraculous, really. It's almost as if Republican politicians and their political operatives just invent these hopelessly crippled, fictitious businesses and business owners out of sheer political expediency. Thank goodness our fourth estate, the MSM, would never let anyone get away with that.

12. There's a lot more to this than her "concern" for small business.
From a recent article by Irvin Muchnick, who has covered the McMahon family for over two decades:

...“step one” of McMahon’s jobs plan is reversing the reversal of the 2003 Bush dividend tax cut. The McMahon family has exploited that measure to the tune of nearly $200 million of their personal fortune. And despite receiving $3 million in state tax credits, plus millions more from the backwash of federal bailout provisions, WWE in early 2009 laid off 10 percent of its office staff in Stamford.

15. You guys are missing the point.
The original tax cuts that she is promoting haven't done shit to prevent a depression. Someone should ask her why the economy isn't booming since her precious tax cuts are so great.

16. McMahon's employee relations at her small business
First, to be FAIR AND BALANCED, this is a list of deceased pro wrestlers of recent history - in the last 20 years or so. I do not know how many were employed by WWE (WWF), so not all were necessarily employed by the McMahon family. However, they all died before their time as a seeming result of the OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS of a Professional Wrestler. Recreational drugs, steroids, touring life, domestic issues, depression, physical strain from the requirements of their profession, and so on. It does beg the question of how Linda, as a Senator from Connecticut, would vote on legislation that affects the health and well being of working class people?

17. Big business fans always bring up how Small businesses
will suffer if they don't get their tax breaks. Yeah, like Big business cares about Small Business just like they care about the Small taxpayers. Seen them drag out their bleeding hearts for the Small business time after time when taxation is mentioned. Big Buckers are Fu**ers.
