Obama versus Bush: The DNC goes up on national cable with this new ad that attempts to crystallize the emerging Dem message for the fall -- and includes a cameo by a certain unpopular former president:

1. dunno about continually putting Bush out there - starts to wear thin

I think it is about time to put the idiocy of actual stupid GOP candidates/Congresspersons up for show - there are countless examples

3. On you maybe
Republican noses need to be rubbed in it every chance we get. (Although I'm beginning to wonder if Republicans have the same short memory as dogs and therefore the 'discipline' misses its mark.)

7. I think just that one quick bullet point with Bush was very good and effective.

10. izquierdista ----

"Republican noses need to be rubbed in it every chance we get."

But does this ad really do that? Does it really rub it in? It's a pretty bland ad. No fire in the belly, no passion, you could almost fall asleep watching. it doesn't exactly pull people's heart strings or get them riled up to vote.

It's sort of "The operation was a success but the patient died."

I think it doesn't hit people hard enough. It doesn't DENY PEOPLE A RESPITE FROM A GUILTY CONSCIENCE.

It doesn't rub it in.

There's something about it that's too polite. The other side is hollering and we are almost whispering. I'm not sure this ad goes for the jugular enough to be effective and it says very little.

12. It goes for the jugular...
...with a paper knife.

At least it's an improvement; it's not their own jugular.

9. As usual people weren't paying much attention when Bush
was doing his dirty work. Since memory is a fleeting comodity with so many Americans, reminding people that Bush and his handlers are the culprits who drove this country into continual war and economic and diplomatic doldrums. Now is the time to agressively drive it home that Bush and the GOP are responsible for our ills. That covers a lot of territory and a plethora of political wealth to be mined and distributed.

2. Unfortunately, the choice isn't clear
With so many economic royalist conservadems out there, many of the questions in the ad can just as easily be asked of Democratic candidates.

8. Even Dems that vote with Republicans more often than with their own party?
Why, exactly, are we supposed to support such creatures?

11. No one says you have to support 'such creatures'. Vote
for whomever you please but support the Democratic party as a whole. No party is perfect but the truth remains that the Democratic party has done more good in the interest of it's citizens.

13. I like it, but...
... There's gotta be a way to slip in a shot of Orange boy or Jowlly ol' Mitch saying something damning.

14. Do we need this ad?
I saw this sign on the way to work today "Had enough? Vote Republican." Yes, we need this ad.
