1. Longer by far and more costly in money, but does not have the flagrant

disregard for the lives of the US troops that we saw in Vietnam...I know people will disagree with this, but I see commanders in Afghanistan TRYING to save US lives where commanders in Vietnam threw them away in persuit of glory and career advancement for themselves.

Therewas/is NO REASON for either war, certainly no reason for this war to continue beyond the time it takes to get all our people out of there.
I am afraid we will have troops based in Afghanistan and Iraq forever, again for no reason.

Bush II and all his lying gang should be in prison.

2. Not compared to the sacrificed lives of Americans who served

3. Worse in some ways. Certainly just as pointless. Technology has reduced

manpower requirements and troop casualties. Collateral damage is probably worse. Damage to economy is far worse.

I also believe that this was calculated in great detail by roVe/buSh/chainey. They knew that they were leaving an intractable problem that would distract people and the next administration. They also know that the MIC is the only real beneficiary of war, and they cashed in.
