7. I live in MO and this "woman" is a rabble rouser and lynch mob leader who refuses
to accept democratic rule of the majority...It's her way or we are all traitors. She is as hateful as they come, phony and disliked and refuses the democratic principle of tolerance. Obama is to the right of Clinton and far from being a "socialist".

Democratic socialism both ensures our survival and our freedom and the government is only as big as it needs to be to combat multinational corporations and a plutocracy from destroying our democracy. Where were these people when Bush was destroying our freedoms and our economy. Like the Nazi soldiers after WWII they ran just fast enough and far enough to burn their uniforms. So now they call themselves Tea Party-iers rather than Bushies but remain just low information right wing republican crazies.

It's why I also carry weapons like most of my liberal progressive friends...for protection from them. Thank God they are still a minority but dems please get riled up enough to make sure they stay that way or they'll finish destroying the democracy we love so much.

16. Dana is vile. Have you heard the latest?
Her husband owns a recording studio and was hired by a candidate (who just happens to be Dana's favorite) to make a video. Dana is now trashing his opponent on the air and started a Twitter war with him. St Louis bloggers picked up the story and Dana and her husband are firing back claiming this is a legitimate business deal and since Dana isn't part of her husband's business and doesn't benefit from it she can favor any candidate she wants on her show.

Just one more is a series of stupid moves by this vile and ignorant woman.

St Louis Activist Blog has some great stuff on Dana and the rest of the tea party folks in St Louis. Also lots of good stuff in Riverfront Times.

8. I can't argue Stein's point
Carrying a gun (even to a tea party rally) doesn't make you a racist. Guess he really is the smartest.

9. So, Black Panthers carrying guns to a rally wouldn't be sending a race-inspired message either?
So Ben Stein is smart like Huey Newton? I prefer smart like Gandhi.

12. The Black Panthers DID carry weapons to a rally if I recall correctly
And the resulting gun laws were certainly racially motivated. Would you say the Black man who carried a rifle at the Obama rally in AZ was racist?

10. carrying a gun to a tea bagger rally
puts on blast that you're a big, fuckin' scare-dee cat and people who are emotional like that should not
have any say so in anything that has to do with the well being of this country.

20. He was arguing a Strawman
Typical wingnut tactic. Don't fall for it. forgive me if you were simply being sarcastic, but I didn't see the smiley.

No one on that panel said if you carry a gun you are a racist.
Stein put the two together and blurted it out implying one of the two nonbaggers said it, and then argued against it to look good.

14. Members are
I live in SC in an over 55 community. I haven't seen any racist signs at the local Tea Party rallies yet. But when I brought this up to a neighbor, she insisted that the Tea Party is not racist, but " I agree that some of the members are".

15. The teabaggers were taught to be nasty
Edited on Thu Jul-15-10 10:21 AM by Proud_Lefty
when they were formed. I remember seeing them rudely interrupting town meeting after town meeting, and I remember the think tank groups organizing them and training them to be aggressive and mean. I don't know if they threw in the racism, but they sure didn't discourage it. The whole movement was a farce from the beginning and only the sheep that can't think for themselves; who will fight against their own best interests, have become the voice of the teabaggers. They are led; they are crude; and they have no clue what fools they are making of themselves. It's sad.

17. I wish people wouldn't back down when a teabagger whines that they want to be called a Tea Partier.
Edited on Thu Jul-15-10 11:50 AM by 20score
Fuck 'em. They named themselves teabaggers. That is a fact. Also, they have no idea what the real Boston Tea Party was about and shouldn't be able to usurp that moniker. They twist history as much as they twist current events and do not deserve the respect they are demanding.

Also, for any teabaggers reading this - you caused the damn problems you're bitching about! Teabaggers deserve derision for the problems they've caused in the past and problems they are causing in the present. And they're still receiving thousands of times more coverage than they merit.

To paraphrase Albert Camus - It's the job of every thinking person to fight against the teabaggers.
