I believe this is one of the best versions of 1984 ever made plus it was even live TV theater. After the 10 minuets of hate scene in the beginning of the clip,

Smith( Peter Cushing) and Syme (Donald Pleasence) discuss Newspeak and the use of adjectives or lack of them in the Canteen which was double plus good..... see it at around 3:28

Nigel Kneale adapted the book for TV and did the script. He wrote a lot of famous scripts for Hollywood, American TV and the BBC.

About the film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174444/

This production is in the Public Domain and the entire film can be viewed and downloaded on YouTube or at Moving Image Archives in its entirety..... http://www.archive.org/details/Meatpies_1984

The video is in double plus condition considering it was video originally
