7. I was just down in the Gulf on spill-relate business
Even if BP is not controlling information flow, and I believe they are still the primary party controlling what the public hears, contractors discourage their employees from speaking openly out of fear of losing very lucrative contracts.

Many managers working on this spill are earning $1000+ per day. Two or three times what they normally make. There is too much money in play for anyone to threaten the goose laying the golden eggs.

Hint: If you want to find out what is really going on in the Gulf, speak with low-level government employees working on the spill response. They aren't making the big bucks, they aren't dependent on BP for their incomes, and the ones I spoke with are reaching their breaking points regarding how badly this spill response is being managed by both BP and the Feds. Especially those working on fisheries and wildlife response.

8. Is this the only video of such an incident?
The video was posted on YouTube two weeks ago, and has been posted and reposted here many times. The reason I ask is that you'd think that with TV news crews all over the place down there, there would be lots of these videos if this was a common event.

I haven't seen any others, though. What does that mean? I think it means that this was an isolated incident, with some rent-a-cop overstepping his authority.

So, show me some other videos of similar things happening. All of the stories I've read are of this particular incident.

I'm not saying it isn't happening, but I don't see the other videos...just this one, posted over and over again.

9. Agreed, only one or two such posts in the last two weeks
Speaks volumes about the news blackout imposed on the cleanup workers and the media.
The sounds of silence has become the national anthem of the gulf coast region.
It's what we don't hear... that should alarm us all.

10. There was a G4TV report on here a few days ago and that reporter was told the same thing
He said that he was told by the BP workers that they are not permitted to speak to him.
