SenateDemocrats — June 17, 2010 — Last week, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, along with nine of her colleagues, introduced legislation to grant subpoena power to the bipartisan National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling, which President Obama created by executive order on May 22.
Shaheen today asked unanimous consent to pass this legislation. Republicans objected.

The Republicans are in bed with the Oil Companies. Campaign contributions for example.
