2. and where are the defenders of those murderous pirates
who have been so vocal and quick to jump on any thread about this subject all week? Why aren't they defending it now that the videos are clearly showing, no PROVING, what we've been saying all along - that it was simply murder and mayhem committed against unarmed, peaceful people?

13. Good question and why did these "terrorists" tend to the wounded soldiers...
and why did Israel confiscate almost all of the videos and pictures and only release a couple of minutes of their footage to the media.

:(

3. Self defense???
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 07:45 AM by civilisation
It stands to reason if the peace protesters had had guns they would have used them. Not the dropped hand guns the Israeli murderers put on the ship. If they had had guns, or other weapons, some of the attackers would have been dead also, not just the 9 or more aid protesters. From this video you can see that they murdered them before they even landed on the ship. In no way self defense, as claimed over and over. The only reason for the continued blockade is to make the rightful inhabitants of Palestine miserable, so they will move away, or die of lack of resources. This is ethnic cleansing, pure and simple. End the blockade, stop sending military and financial support to the terrorist state of Israel.

6. I totally agree.
It's sadly ironic that what the Germans did to the jews the current Israeli government is now doing to the Palestinians. After pointing out this obvious fact i now await being called "anti-semitic" and having my post deleted from DU. It happens anytime anyone points out this sad irony.

8. Yes, from this video and now from dozens of eye-witness
reports, it's clear that at least two people were shot dead and many others wounded, before the commandos landed. Still waiting for the U.S government to join every other government in the world and demand an independent investigation and also the return of all the video, emails etc that were confiscated.

or two supplied by the IDF, which was played almost constantly in our media for a day or two.

Waiting for our "liberal media" to show some of this footage and interview passengers on the ship.

7. In a press conference yesterday, British citizen and Al Jazeera
reporter James Elshayyal, stated clearly that as he was reporting on the events that night, a man was shot dead from a helicopter before one commando set foot on the ship, then a second one was shot before they landed. Three others were left to die despite pleas from even the Israeli member of Parliament and another British national. They were left without treatment for three hours and died because they were refused medical care.

Elshayyal said that when in the Israeli prison and the Turks were being released in response to the demands of their government, but others were being left behind, the Turks refused to leave until everyone was released. He credits the Turks and their government for getting everyone released.

You can see his statements here if you haven't seen them already.

It's a very clear accounting by yet another eye-witness who also said they knew the Israelis might claim there were weapons on the ship, so he was given free access to search and film every corner of the ship and did so. But his video as well as everyone else's was confiscated.

you are welcome to post it. It is very important testimony regarding what happened and I doubt we will see it on our censored media.

20. You're welcome. He is just one of many who have told the
same story. People were killed before the commandos landed and the victims were unarmed. That actually was clear in the news footage which was live-streamed as the tragedy unfolded. However, that didn't stop the Israelis from attempting to manipulate the story so it is helpful to have as much corroboration as possible.

11. This Israeli govt. has completely turned me around
What they are doing to the Palestinians is a war crime of the worst kind. What they did to the folks on that ship was murder and international piracy. What our government has done in response to the deaths and the American death is shameful as well.

That blows their story.
