27. The idiot she was running against failed to show up for 3 debates the last week

I was down on the peninsula right before the election and there was nothing but wall to wall TV ads for Drake and the city comptroller who was running against her. I forgot his name but he was a 1 off in every poll-virtually tied. They were going to have 3 debates in the very last week and suddenly this moron goes AWOL. He failed to show up sighting some concerns about the debate format and basically he disappeared from the public's eye and she still only won by 3% or something like that.

Owen Pickett was dumb as a post.

Ed Shrock was a smart, actually navy veteran and USNA grad who started propositioning men over the phone. Stoooopid.

Now, Drake. She's still not as stupid as Paul Tribble was. He still sets the standard.

It really was too bad about Shrock, I liked him and he represented us well. Did I read that Jeff Gannon exposed him? I know the GOP wanted a more Bush friendly candidate here...and we got Thelma after Rove swiftboated David Ashe, an Iraq vet and attorney.

an Academy grad whose kids went to public school, etc. In one of his earliest campaigns he came to the house and complained about having to fight the Democrats AND Pat Robertson!

He was a real loss.

If someone films her, they can cut up the film and make it say give her response to questions other than were asked. It is her way of having 'what really was said' on tape. Not defending her policies at all, but there is a good reason for her having her own tape.

One of my family members is in Thelma Snake's territory. She's so sneaky she doesn't put 'Republican on her campaign literature. Very competent at shilling for the right rather than governing.
