Some tool from the CATO Institute is there to add "the other side of the argument" but Julian's statements are stronger and refute all of that.

Julian Assange is the real deal - knows the terrain and is unflappable. Wikileaks is enormously important, especially from here on out as Obomber has now chosen to prosecute an NSA whistleblower.

re: other side to the story: the late Bill Hicks had a great bit about the Rodney King trial. "The cop said 'It's all in how you look at the tape. If you play it backwards, you see us help King up and send him on his way.' Murmurs in the courtroom...'What balls!'" (I'd ad-lib on the rest of the bit, but don't know how many Hicks fans there are on DU.)

Great description of Julian, and great way to reference the great Bill Hicks to accurately depict the "other side of the story". I remember that bit. Bill ranks up there with Lenny and George. We need his voice more than ever. He was dead on with Leno & Limbaugh. Wonder what he'd say about Palin.
