Geraldo Rivera criticized Fox News host Bret Baier for his interruption-heavy interview of President Obama Wednesday.

Friday morning on radio program "Brian and the Judge," Geraldo — a Fox News host himself — said that Baier should have treated Obama with more respect.

"At a certain point, you gotta recognize...when the President seemed exasperated and frustrated and unable to complete a sentence, I thought at some point you gotta make a difference between the guy who's the senate whip or the house whip, or the assemblyman, the leader of the state senate," Geraldo said. "He's not a mayor, he's the President."

Former Bush Press Secretary Dana Perino disagreed.

"There's not a single reporter who ever interviewed President Bush who would have done anything different," she said. "I was there for 7.5 years, I watched them all...Diane Sawyer, others, they're aggressive and they should be.

"The only place I've seen that is Sarah Palin," Geraldo responded. "Sarah Palin's the only one who gets beat up the way Bret Baier beat up Barack Obama."

"I don't think he beat him up," Perino said. "He asked him some questions that the White House did not prepare the President for. That's a staff problem.

Geraldo ended by comparing Baier to Keith Olbermann.

"I've done some of the most aggressive interviews ever on television, I've been down people's throats, I've had my hand around their neck, I've had my nose broken," he said. "Point: there is some decorum and if that same thing happened to George Bush and I was watching that, I think that everybody at Fox News would've said, 'Hey, that Keith Olbermann went way too far.'"

"You can't compare Bret Baier to Keith Olbermann!" Perino responded.

1. I'd be very flattered to be compared to Keith Olbermann.
The hostility in these repuke KKKooks is so evident whenever they are around the President.

But of course there's no comparison - Baier isn't fit to lick Olbermann's shoes.

3. what pisses me off about that is ...
KO has NEVER been that way to anyone in an interview that I have seen ... He is smarter and will nail someone, but his style is not to cut people off like that ...

Not saying that there aren't people on the left who would not do it, it just isn't KO's style - it's a completely false comparison ...

And perino, my arse ... People friggen treated Bush like a china doll ... He NEVER saw anything like that while in office ...

5. I saw plenty of Bush interviews and Fox news readers were physically unable . . .
to challenge him because their tongues were so far up his butt they couldn't get out an intelligible word.

What Fox has forgotten is that while they might be able to create reality for their slavish audience of true believers, when they have a spokesbimbo like Perino blatantly lie, it just hardens the opposition against them. And it hardens it among the squishy center of American politics that could go either way on policy matters.

It's plenty scary that the ranks of moron-Americans seem to be growing, but at the same time, I still see a pattern of the wingnutariat becoming less credible by the minute.

And the mayfly-minded media are going to paint them with the world's largest loser brush when health care passes -- regardless of how defective the bill may be.

6. Comparing Baier's ACTUAL interview of Obama with a HYPOTHETICAL
Olbermann interview of Bush.

WTF?

7. WhoreAldo Who?
To Hell with him. To Hell with that entire Network of Riff Raff.
Haven't watched Faux for 7 years. Switched it off the day we invaded Iraq.
Never went back. Too predictable, and degrading. CNN soon followed, Can only
watch Kieth and Rachel. The rest of MSNBC is worthless. Maybe Ed is okay,

Its Russia Today or Deutsche Welle or BBC or nothing.
A new perspective does wonders for the soul.

8. When has Sarah Palin ever been "beat up"?
There's a massive difference between screwing up interviews by spouting mindless drivel & nonsensical answers and being "beat up".

9. Brett Baier Did Not Beat Up The President
Brett Baier did not beat up President Obama. He just kept interrupting him. Sometimes, I like a good spar. This wasn't it. Brett Baier looks like a boy scout wearing his daddy's suit. If our president can't handle him, our country is in trouble. Now, I do like a good, political slap down. One of my favorites was Campbell Brown on Tucker Bounds....

Now, that's a slap down. One fun to watch, too.

I like the way Anthony Weiner handles himself during an interview. I have NEVER, EVER seen anyone get the best of him. You can tell when he gets a lot hot under the collar, but he always comes out on top.

Robert Gibbs used to be a good interviewee. He drives me nuts as the press secretary, though.

Now, Helen Thomas can give it pretty good.

Kucinich gives good interviews, also.

I like Chris Matthews some days. But, goodness knows, Chris lets NO ONE speak with interrupting them and doing some strange spittle thing.

Helen Thomas Again...

If you have a sensitive stomach, skip this one. Bush gets to ramble on....

She knows how to ask a direct question. Why doesn't she have a show?
