Beck would be pointing out that he changed his name from 'Barack Hussein Obama' ("Manchurian candidate! Manchurian candidate! What's this guy hiding!?") If his name was Barry Washington he'd still be black. Beck and Limbaugh feed into the need for their listeners to feel superior. They espouse the anger of White men who feel put upon by women and minorities who are trying to get America to live up to the promise of truly equal opportunity. They aren't really that good or charismatic. It is just pretty easy to recruit people who are ignorant. People who bought into the idea that being White means you are superior. They feel threatened because they see that even without equal opportunity, women and minorities are able to succeed and crack that ceiling. It scares the shit out of them and pisses them off. Beck and Limbaugh tap into that and stoke it in to an orgasmic frenzy of "White is right" and the problem with America is minorities. Both the hosts and their listeners are disgusting, but not hard to figure out.

20. What can you expect from a person that belongs to some strange cult.

His religion is based on fantastic tale of golden tablets, and a translating angel. Of course no one other than Smith every saw the tablets of the mysterious angel. Some who have researched the subject believe that Smith most likely plagiarized an earlier work. In my estimation he little room to criticize anyone. I was good friends with a person who was a direct descendant of the original Mormon group that settled in Utah. He had a good position and he confided in me that he didn't believe a word of the Book of Moran, but that he continued to be an active member because that was how it obtained his position and he couldn't jeopardize it. He said that his skepticism was shared by many of the people that he grew up with. It was a case of go along to get along. I certainly don't limit that to only the Mormons. I have known several guys who went to church just to keep peace in the family and didn't have a lick of faith in the religion they supposedly belonged to.

Remember, the nazis used similar tactics to make most german citizens suspicious, and distrustful of each other. It's not that hard to do, especially when you are fully funded and have been at it for 30 or so years, through tv newspaper and radio. Over time german citizens turned on one another, only because of lies perpetuated by an extremist minority. Of course economics created the perfect storm, cultivating fear, anger and who else to blame one's economic woes on...? Certainly not those who are responsible, but maybe some other group that stands in it's way to power. Hatred was the motivation, and unfortunately too many germans succumbed to it... Sound familiar?

Democracy failed, as some right wingers love to claim, not for us, but for them, because they could never win through a democratic process, their philosophy is fascist, bigoted, intolerant and totalitarian, all of which the majority abhor. Lying was never enough, but with tons of money and support from corporate interests, the GOP' could tilt the balance in their favor. The corporate coalition that exists is a minority, however they now have more representation than you or I to influence what is left of American democracy. And they mean to prevent its rebirth, so don't laugh too much at the asshole, because he and his are the ones laughing at us.

Whenever I hear the name Glenn, I am reminded of serial killers Glenn Allan Bagley, Freddie Lee Glenn, and Glenn Taylor Helzer. What a fine, upstanding American you must be if you are named Glenn. Except that Glenn isn`t an American name, its Irish.

What about Beck then. The only famous people I had heard named Beck before I heard of Glenn Beck weren`t American: English guitarist Jeff Beck, and Wehrmacht General Ludwig Beck. I guess Beck isn`t a real American name, either.
