When Thomas Jefferson told us that the banking institutions would be "more dangerous than standing armies," he had no way of foreseeing the TARP treachery that bankers have pulled off with $500 billion of taxpayers' money. But in 2008, Obama saw the beginning of that treachery when he watched America's most powerful bankers grovel like pathetic paupers begging for handouts.

2. K&R. Excellent comment.
I hadn't seen those comments of Jefferson and Lincoln.

How sad that New Democrats pretended there was a Third Way and freeing the financial sector from those pesky regulations could somehow benefit The Greater Good. Guess that depends on your definition of Greater and Good. Just to show that "hey look, I'm not anti-business," buying into the frame that any regulation is negative. And here we are with the mildest attempts at regulation being called evil communist moves by the Greedy Obstructionist Privatizers even after the Bush Crash of 08 demonstrated that the economy President Obama inherited was so close to the one President Roosevelt inherited.

How sad it has been to see too many Democrats pretending that we need to "be fair" to those corporations that have been very unfair to the majority of our people. As long as they hide their cruelty with clinical terms like foreclosure (instead of eviction) and recision (instead of dropping coverage)? And continue to supply their campaign support (aka bribery).

4. Blah blah blah
Ba blah blah blah. Yap yap yap. Blah blah blah. Yakkity ya yak yak. Etc. Etc. So, what. Obama is already a lame duck in less then a year. "Who mandates the people to buy insurance?" Wait let me guess, an asshole. Yup. More talk from the talking head. Where are the fucking reformers. Does anybody see them. Not me. Don't see any. Shall we start marching toward DC now or wait till we can't even afford bullets. Come on people, we know what has to be done.No more talk. Remember New Orleans? The shit that's happening in DC is on a much more grand scale.

It's nice to be able to listen to Papantonio without him getting shouted down by a cadre of Fox talking cretins.
