2. Solid information.

Too bad we have to hear it on Letterman. Don't get me wrong, I like Letterman. I just feel this climate crisis should be worthy of reporting on the M$M.

4. Oh, I totally agree.
Dr. Hansen should be on NBC, etc. You note that they'll talk about the email scandal every where but not bother to explain in detail.

I love Hansen; he dared Bush to try to shut him up as he did other NASA employees. Hansen has the goods on global warming and some attorneys on retainer too, I bet.

3. It's not for lack of means or knowledge
it's lack of political will that we don't haven't done something about this.

Thank you for posting - both Letterman interviews:hi:

5. You're welcome!
It's lack of information getting out and the usual willful ignorance.

Al & Jim Hansen disagree on the cap & trade issue and I can see the pro & cons of the issue. Pollution should not be traded for cash---that's a half-hearted measure, but it is an incentive for developing countries to cap their carbon emissions. I'm more in Dr. Hansen's corner on this.

Thanks for posting, btw. :)

6. Nice to see Dave's obvious enthusiam
I wish more TV personalities would have credible climate scientists on their shows.

But no, all we get are the likes of Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin and non-qualified plumbers expounding on subjects they have no clue about.

K&R.

7. A key exchange happens around the 6:40 mark.

I'm paraphrasing here.

Letterman; What can we do.

Hansen: You're important, you're in front of the people.

Letterman; I'm just a clown.

Hansen; But the people hear you, they don't hear the scientists.

Could this be because too much of the corporate media has either not quoted the scientists in their columns nor had them on their talk shows. Instead we're treated to an endless drumbeat of corporate pundit puppets and people without a scientific clue.

If we were facing war, Generals or military "experts" would be put on endless "news" programs but with humanity facing global catastrophe from global warming climate change, the scientific experts; warning of this are virtually ignored.

Why is that?

Kicked and recommended.

Thanks for the thread, Duppers.

8. absolutely!
Thanks for that short transcript, Joe. :hi:

I don't understand why Rachel and Keith don't have Hansen on; he'd gladly to show up. They've headlined those dang emails, but only because they've been discussed on other 'news' programs. Global warming is not political enough for them or something? Tonight BBC News had a short segment about the coming wars for water and they're going to happen. The U.S. needs to wake up and stop talking about Tiger's Woodies for gawd's sake. Even Rachael was on that shit tonight.

Then coastal flooding would be a good thing!

10. Watch the last moments ...
Hansen doesn't care for Letterman's words of "we're screwed". But, we are.
