2. Bonus hilarity: Hatch pretends the GOP would want to "reform" the
health care system.

Also: he complains about the "arrogance of power" of the Democrats. Ha!

Also: he talks about a "Democrat bill". It's Democratic, you fucking idiot.

3. Hatchet was lying out of his ass and Dylan was much too nice to him. He got away with all sorts of
talking points and whining. You couldn't pay me to take Hatch's karma.

Insurance Companies are allowed to treat states as privae fiefdoms. They made insurance compaines immune to the anti-trust laws. Either Orin Hatch doesn't know what he is talking about or he is simply lying.

12. Hatch calling 1-800-WAA-AAAH
Strange, did Hatch have any comment when Sensenbrenner came in and shut off the lights on the Democrats in the House or comment when we were forced to have hearings in a basement where Conyers could not be referred to as Mr. Chairman.

Uh, go fuck yourself, Senator.

13. The Republicans had the White House and a majority in Congress
for years. They managed to put Alito and Roberts on the Supreme Court in spite of Democrats' nay votes. They had plenty of time to reform health care insurance law in a meaningful way. Truth be known, they really don't care about the poor.

Just so happens that a few years ago at the age of 61, I suddenly had to try to get health insurance. I was earning a slightly above average salary and had minor or very common pre-existing conditions. I was lucky and got a rate I could pay because of certain special advantages in the market that I had at the time. But I couldn't have afforded any free market insurance without my special treatment.

And in my early 50s, I had no insurance for years. It is thanks to my lack of health care coverage at that time that I developed one of my pre-existing conditions. None of my pre-existing conditions have required more than minimal care since I was 50. Nearly everyone over 55 has pre-existing conditions. That does not mean that their health care is going to be more expensive. It just means that insurance companies have an excuse to charge more.

14. Where is the quote?
At what point in the video does Hatch make the statement that this bill will create more Democrats and that's why the Republicans are against it? I listened to the whole video and didn't catch that quote.
