I know this probably shouldn't be in the Political Videos section, but today is N30 so I'd thought I'd post this up to remind people about this since been a decade now since this happened. I was 14 years old back then and this year year I just learned about it.
Yo what up everybody this is Scottie, and I just wanted to let you know that today is N30. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about it is ten years after the 1999 Seattle WTO Riots where youth activists, labor activists, anarchist groups, religious and student organizations protested the World Trade Organization from holding a meeting in downtown Seattle. Their goal was to shut the meeting down and get the message about their feelings towards globalization, capitalism and how it affects society. They did this by forming a human chain around the entrance doors which kept the delegates from coming in. This event actually put a spotlight on what a lot of people were saying about globalization. I can't even really pretend that I'm actually big on this stuff about globalization or build that much of an opposition towards it because truth is I just found out about it this year from Naomi Klein this year when she was talking about it at the Campaign For America's Future, maybe some of you guys can educate me I've been hearing a lot about this event ths year since a decade later. My question for all of you is where were all of you at that time when this was goin down? What did you think about it when it happened and what's your perspective on it looking back ten years ago. If you would send a message to me, write a blog, or even make a youtube video about it.
