These are the kinds of things we used to see coming from American companies - showcase products that demonstrate technology moving forward. Hopefully as time progresses, we'll start to see more American innovation springing forward to keep this country on the cutting edge. Yes, it is just a toy, but symbols matter and we could sure use a few technological showstoppers coming from America again.

2. Oh big deal...
They spent millions in R&D and all they could get it to do was The Robot. (Insert sad trombone music here.)

5. Before I read your comment...
The first thing I thought of was an image of thousands of them in military clothing with guns.
Perhaps each one could be fitted with cameras that transmit via satellite... the future of the world is going to be scary!

9. HAhahaha!
I watched the real one first and then the fake one .. and it is was pretty bizarre to watch them considering I've had a few rum and cokes! ROTFLMAO!

But the first one is scary ... knowing that people never use technology 'ONLY' of the good of mankind.
I hope I am dead before I see too much of the future...

makes your head spin some of them - (well, all of them) - and that isn't the rum & cokes either!

11. If they were to merge...
If they were to merge the (voice command) robotic technology with prosthetic limbs in the future for quadriplegics it would be a GOOD thing.
Thought of that while watching this one: http://www.youtube.com/user/GerbilGod7#p/u/2/sqYKORGaiug

17. If you don't think that's where this is ultimately headed...
... then you haven't been paying attention.

And from the life imitating art department: Have you seen the movie Surrogates? In it the army is made up of robots remotely controlled via satellite.

13. The technology is great
but then we'd be complaining that the people who WOULD be breakdancing are no longer getting any exercise. :)

14. There's a reason the Japanese are so obsessed with robots,
and when you know what that reason is, you won't feel inferior. The Japanese are building robots because their population is dwindling rapidly due mainly to a lack of sex. That's right, the Japanese are too tired from their insane work schedules to have sex. The poplation decrease has a lot of Japanese people panicked, so they're working furiously on robot technology to replace humans.

Don't feel bad America. You may be unemployed, but at least you're still screwing!

18. Moron.
The Japanese have an aging population - ok - this is a natural demographic consequence affecting every single western nation through reduced family size -
The Japanese also have a significantly lower immigration rate (changing now).

Further their technological advances make the US look soooo backwards its not funny - thats why Toyota could buy every american car company with spare cash - first year in their history they have not reported a decline in profit.
IN fact Toyota could buy the next three largest car companies with CASH and still have some left over to buy whatever else they felt the need for. ROBOTS - do more than just help old people and clean up.

moron.

16. i an waiting for my robot mate
that cooks, cleans, does the laundry and can go back in his box when i am tired of him. but, he also provides the other benefits when i want him and performs massages. he needs to be adaptable with different parts-i will never have to settle for the same old thing for the rest of my life. why couldn't i have grown up to be a robotic engineer-it is never too late i guess.

20. Look at this way...
Americans invented break dancing and now we are just sitting back and having fun while the Japanese have worked extremely hard inventing a machine to do what what we invented.
