The First Lady is presented with the Official White House Christmas Tree, arriving in Washington from Shepherdstown, West Virginia. The 18 ½ ft Douglas fir arrives on the traditional horse drawn carriage to the North Portico. The tree will be on display in the Blue Room throughout the holidays.

You can start at 1:20 if you want to see the activity begin. Very low key arrival but good to see. 'Is this the biggest tree we've ever had? Yeah, I think this wins.'

2. The first little girls are so cute
They help me to feel like the evil Republicans can't suck the joy out of every moment we have a lovely family in the White House. Makes me feel like I need to prepare for some jolt of criticism that some 'entertainer of the media' will make of two delighted kids and their excellent mother, receiving the 'First' tree. Let the tree bashing begin.

4. The coolest moment in this clip...
comes towards the end, when the older gentlemen turned to the First Lady saying in not so many words that it is cold and she and the girls should be getting inside, and Michelle turned to him and said “well you come in with us”. Just the simple kind gesture in that moment really makes me happy real human beings occupy this white house.

5. I just saw Mr Sundback interviewed on CNN - he said it was special
to donate the WH tree this year because it was going to a family with young children. Very sweet.
