Lets flood our reps with the Obey proposal

Also, enact a war profits tax on all defense contractors.

2. We never really had the discussion abt deficit neutral HCR. We were told we had it

But had that discussion ocurred, we would have heard all summer long how inflated the health care costs are. "Cost containment" became early on a phrase used to duscuss examining our care costs, rather than making the Big Insurers, Big Pharma and the Big Mecial Profiteers roll back their insane prices.

So Cenk is wrong when he acts as if we had this discussion.

But Cenk is right in bringing forth Obey on his program and supporting Obey.

The nation was offered a tremendous beenefit back in the day when Eisenhower was asked about going to fight in Vietnam. That President said "Show me the numbers." And when they showed him the numbers he said, "We cannot afford it."

All the other Prewsidents have been so cowed over the notion that we are weak if we are not fighting a war. But how much social unrest do we want to see? Do you think when more vets come back from yet another war, knowing how to fight rather than to starve, that they will put up with our nation's crappy jobless, homeless financial "recovery"? In your dreams, Barack Obama, in your dreams.

7. How about going back to making Congress the only body to declare war.

And make it so we don't do anything like war unless Congress declares war.

With this Congress, nothing will ever be declared! Joe Lieberman and Olympia Snow will screw it all up....somehow.

The War Tax is a great idea. Puts Repugs in a pickle. And I think to the average person, it sounds reasonable and fair. BUT if the war seems useless....then people will not want to pay for it. That should make reps think twice about it.
