Watching BecKKK's rally and reading http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x10570">this Palin quote reminded me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_j4c7Bop0">clip about book burning that's in this very pertinent BBC series I saw a few years ago. Also, the angry mobs are reminiscent of the defeated German soldiers at the end of World War 1, as described at 4:15 to 4:54.

1. Not only Beck but Palin

The masses are willing to give their undivided loyalty to two people that certainly have issues. I don't for a minute ignore these two they are dangerous for America.

Another thought, if Beck and Palin were Black, Hispanic, Gay, Liberal do you think that the states and the Goverment would be so hands off on them? Do you think that the states and the government would already be raiding these events and other militia events if it were the above groups with the destructive and almost criminal rhetoric, the indirect threats to taking over the government etc. This is what is really dangerous these people are allowed to continue with their facist movement and they are being allowed to.

Remember after WWI Hitler was ostracized, laughed at and ignored. Just enough brown shirts started to believe in his rhetoric and his target (Jewish), just as we are witnessing now Lou Dobss stoked the paranoia and Beck and Palin take it steps further. We should always keep an eye on them because when they are out of site that is when they will do the most damage.

7. This is a rather frightening documentary. We're in the makings of it here right now.

A vicious group of idiots and an economy in pieces. As if Bush didn't know enough to kill this country. I saw this coming. He got advice from his dad and Baker, and others, saying he could win through destruction. That's what happened, and unless we are very careful we could end up with the same desperation that lead Germans to wanting a strong leader. Any leader. Even an evil one.

It could have been avoided. Hindenburg said no, but was coerced by them.

This is a really good documentary. I've never seen such a thorough job.

10. It appears that Hitler's rise was due to a bottom up kind of support.

Something similar to what we see with Palin, if she were to survive for another few years and gain a greater following. Many individual citizens for many different reasons gave support to Hitler. It's no different than what we see with support for Bush.

This documentary is really eye opening. I hope we can avoid similar repeats in history as things get rougher with our economy.

12. Wow, there's some great natural history docs on there

The Secret Life of Plants is awesome. I just noticed he's added the BBC's http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/planet-earth-the-complete-bbc-series/#comment-7690">Planet Earth in HD, the best nature series I've ever seen. Episodes 1 & 9 are missing but they can be downloaded as torrents elsewhere.

I'm just about to watch http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/grizzly-man/">Grizzly Man which I missed when it was on TV.
