This ought to be FUN!

A whole new generation of selfish brats who lost the election to a black man and have been having tantrums ever since.

1. Wow...

It is fine to disagree with other people, including "teabaggers" (scare quotes because people throw the term around as if teabaggers all believe exactly the same things).

What is getting very tiresome is - as you allege above - they all must be 'racists' since they oppose Obama, a black man. You didn't even watch the trailer probably, in which there is an African American man who makes the direct statement, "When you have government control over everything, you have tyrannic behavior." Sounds a bit like the Founding Fathers' type of temperament. Are you against the Founding Fathers' ideologies now?

(I'm a card carrying Democratic voter. I voted against Dole, Bush twice, etc., etc... but this 'racist' claim is just ludicrous, and I'm sick of it.)

6. No, they are racists
Maybe not every one of them but most of them that I've met. There are a decent amount of TBs where I work and race is a common topic they bring up, especially them saying they're not racist. The other day a lady told me she doesn't mind the "others". She even kind of likes the filipina in the office. Maybe you're right and she was just expressing how not racist she is.

8. Really ?
What does it mean when it is stated that the government has control over everything what exactly is any different than the last eight years that bush was in office?I am sick of hearing statements like "take our country back"! What has changed in the last year that is so different other than having a new president that happens to be black! Obama was not even president when TARP Was passed, so please tell me what has changed? what control has the Obama taken away from us? Did you see some of the signs the tea buggers were carting of obama as a witch doctor do you really think that is not racist? If not just maybe you identify with the tea buggers more than democrats I noticed you said you did not vote for bush but you did not say you voted for democrats.

9. If you voted for Bush twice, you've got a lot to answer for.

10. but this 'racist' claim is just ludicrous
Just because you can't recognize racists when you see a crowd of them is not my problem.

What... do they have to be in white robes with a burning cross and a rope for you to pick them out? All the rhetoric about Obama being the "other", not American, a witchdoctor with a bone thru his nose.... that didn't clue you in?

And since when did the government have "control" over "everything"?

They are racists. Their movement is a racist movement. When they say they want thier country back it is code for "get the damn ni**er out of our white house". They are ignorant, bigoted, fearful, crazy , dangerous people.

If you don't see the blatant racism on display at these rallies then you are blind.

13. Thank you. I'm getting tired of hearing it too.
Assuming that someone who favors a bad idea must be in favor of all bad ideas is a hallmark of childish thinking. I prefer to leave childish thinking to the Republicans.

18. Full disclosure...
Edited on Sun Nov-22-09 10:19 PM by lyonspotter
I voted against all republican presidential candidates as soon as I was old enough, as while I was a child in the 80s I developed an intrinsic hatred for the policies of Reagan/Bush...I voted for Clinton in 96, Gore in 2000, Kerry in 2004, etc... but this isn't about me specifically, nor is it about voting...(and what is of note: Olbermann doesn't vote, so are you going to discount what he says based on the fact he doesn't vote?)...

It is about people on the Right who are finally (and I mean FINALLY) becoming aware that what Bush has done has been continued into a new administration... Where is the repeal of the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, the removal of our troops from an illegal war in Iraq, etc., etc., etc?! We wanted CHANGE! It has not been delivered. Don't say, 'give Obama more time.' It didn't take much time at all for him to go against the promises he spoke of, such as repealing the "Patriot" Act which is an assault on liberty. He was in support of its re-authorization and Bush's tyrannical revised FISA.

My hope, I repeat, my hope...is that we can see passed the left-right paradigm long enough in order to remember that what the Founding Fathers envisioned in terms of human liberty has been greatly assaulted and transgressed. It is a shame that the Democratic Party has not repudiated Bush's attack on our Democracy, but has cowed to the tyranny that Bush imposed... Let us remember as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson both similarly expressed, "A republic that is willing to sacrifice liberty for safety deserves neither and will lose both." This is what I see in the teabagger movement, that sentiment. And if only the teabaggers and progressives could unite in the common goal of restoring our rights, we would be ever so much the more powerful to have a government that finally exists to serve us and not the other way around!

2. clowns
If these kooks were out burning their bras with their panties in a bunch protesting the real tyrannical policies of the bush cabal I'd give them the slightest bit of credibility. But they weren't, so I wont. Also it starts off with...It started as a grassroots movement.
Since when is being supported by lobbyists and other corporate friendly interest groups grassroots?...These people are being duped into supporting everything that is against them. SUCKERS!!!!!!
The right is exploiting these people by inflaming white anger/fake populism/fake patriotism and they're too stupid to realize that their chain is being pulled.

14. However naive and out of perspective his views might be, this "token" seems to think for himself.
I think he's wrong politically, but he struck me as being fairly well spoken and not just a token. It seems pre-judgmental to me to assume that because he's a black conservative he didn't come to his dumb ideas independently and with intellectual honesty.

17. That wasn't my point.
My point was that to legitimatize their claim there is that one Black guy or girl they use and put amongst everyone else who is not a person of colour.

Patrick Henry had one quality our wingnut friends lack: he paid attention to facts.
