Rep. Alan Grayson argues in support of the Paul-Grayson amendment, which would subject the Federal Reserve to a complete audit. The amendment later passed the House Financial Services Committee 43-26 as part of the underlying financial reform package. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8EKGtf_YrY

1. Most conservatives...
don't even understand what the Fed does or how it works, but they have no problem in voicing a (rather dubious) opinion about how it shouldn't be around anymore!

I honestly can't even think about how an audit of the Fed will work! And exactly who has the expertise to do so? I wouldn't trust an independent firm and the GAO is suspect to a power grab.

The people who dislike the Fed are the same ones who want to SOMEHOW return to the Gold Standard- they don't even hide their feelings about a return- and we live in a far too complicated time (open-ended optioning, derivatives, etc) to return to an economic foundation based on tangible gold!

2. Eff the Fed
You don't address the basic question, which is why we need the fed at all. The Federal Reserve is the biggest scam ever pulled on the American people. We don't need them!

6. I agree, Greenheron
It is definitely a huge scam on America. We pay these
"Captains of the financial industry" to handle our
money? To make our economic policy and print our currency?
Wow, what a scheme. I thought wall street speculating was an
ultimate rape of our finances, they don't hold a candle to
this scam. Can you imagine the citizens who could rise out of
poverty with the fee's and monetary authority we give to a
private corporation (the FED)? Just getting rid of the private
control of the Federal Reserve would pay for, non-profit
health care for every American. Imagine what would happen if
we got rid of the FED, reinstated wealth taxes to pre-Reagan
levels and revoked "Free-trade" agreements. We might
just have a feasible country again whose debit would turn into
a surplus in no time and millions of jobs would be created. Of
course we would need to reinstate trade protection legislation
like every other country in the world has. That just might
make the wealthy/elite of this (once feasible) country earn
about 50 times the average salary of a worker, instead of the
4000 times he currently "earns". How sad that we
could have a country like the other civilized ones who do not
have a serf population.

13. First the treasury and the Fed. needs to be investigated and once
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 01:51 PM by ooglymoogly
cleaned to an inch of their lives and the crooks jailed, taken over under the banner of the Treasury; After takeover must become a true Federal reserve as apposed to a privately owned bank pretending to be Federal, ruled by a few central banks ruled by international bankers. The crooked Fed and the crooked treasury must then be made to work for the people of this country. The Gold Standard is not, not, not, possible at this stage of the roll out, but money must have some hard backing of substance, be it property, resources or whatever by at least 10%. At this stage, it is backed by nothing short of the entire US and her people; And heading toward a bankruptcy sale of everyone's property, goods and chattels,(as seen in the great depression) forfeit to the needs of an enslaved country ruled by Morgan et al; A fet a compli and an end to those pesky democratic ideals and the constitution.

9. Exactly right ...

The Fed is going to end up heavily politicized now, which is not going to be a good thing.

It's functioned remarkably well since the Lehman collapse and has been right more times than not during the crisis.

7. Agreed again.
I hope people do not go as far as Ron Paul and argue for a
gold standard again though. It would completely destroy our
economy and allow the elite who have been purchasing our gold
world wide, to become Kings and Queens. This is kind of like
when Geraldo opened that Al Capone box...expecting it to be
empty myself.

8. End The Fed
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 12:51 PM by Mark D.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 5. The CONGRESS shall have Power to coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It is absurd to say our country can issue bonds and cannot issue currency. Both are promises to pay, but one fattens the usurer and the other helps the people."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the Federal Reserve was inaugurated in 1913, a London banker acknowledged that it is a scam.

"The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits, or so dependent on its favours, that there will be no opposition from that class. The great body of the people, mentally incapable of comprehending, will bear its burden without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical (contrary) to their interests."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Fed was largely founded by JP Morgan Sr. / Jr.'s efforts, with their banker friends Warburg (whose bank later merged with Chase (Rockefeller) which later acquired JP Morgan) and Schiff (who helped finance the Trotsky Revolution in Russia). JP Morgan's family also founded Aetna (I'm not making this up) the largest health insurer, leader in the fight to preserve the 'health insurance' ponzi scheme. They financed JD Rockefeller's Standard Oil (now Exxon/Mobil), they founded GE (big Coal and Nuke energy). Before every major economic crisis since the founding, you can see the currency manipulation of The Fed, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs to a lesser extent.

18. Youboob?
I don't appreciate being called a name, especially when you don't know me from Adam.

I posted the video with its own title, as the important thing for discussion is the actual content of the video, regarding which you have no remarks.

Consider yourself ignored.

It wasn't until he shaved the beard that Orlando started taking him seriously. Shallow, shallow people.
