Eric Boehlert from Media Matters breaks down Faux's bogus statistical lie for Cenk. Highlights the ineptitude of the entire press, and (ironically) that Faux is a source of information that LIES.

1. I listened to this the other night and I can't believe I hadn't heard about this before.
Well, ok, I *can* believe it but it's still depressing that almost no one caught onto it.

PS---In case anyone doesn't know, the above video is from TYT's new YouTube channel, As the name suggests it's all interviews (on a variety of topics with clips longer than what you'd see on the main channel). And yes, you can subscribe for free as always.

2. Ratings are smoke and mirrors
I worked for the radio ratings company, Arbitron, for 10 years. Both Arbitron and Nielsen are very reliable ratings and measurement companies. The big problem however is when the subscribers to the data get their hands on the research they will really twist and turn the information a million favorable ways to make themselves look good.

Believe it or not Fox isn't bending the data to promote to their audience...that might be a slight part. But they are really bending the data to sellto their advertisers and ad agencies who buy the commericial time. That is really their end-game. All about the revenue.

3. Mmmm. . . . listen to the interview
the point is that Faux was massaging their data to sell to other main stream news outlets . . . who lapped it up without question!

4. Yes but remember
that decision makers who buy advertising also watch TV. They can influence these people with this mis-information.
