We were denied a permit for a rally with the veterans in Brooksville, FL. This was during the reelection of Rep Ginny Brown-Waite (R). We were told we could not use a microphone, or amplify the speech. So they put a sock over the microphone to make a point. Now, another rally for veterans, put together by the repubs, is allowed to amplify their speech, and they say they got a "special" permit. What's going on here? This is getting scary!
:scared:

4. Imagine that...a public servant shushing a citizen on a public street in
order to honor the National Anthem, an anthem which honors freedom and the bravery and sacrifice of veterans.

7. No...it was the first part...in 2008
wherein the police chief lied in order to stifle the vets. He then allowed another group in 2009 to use the same sort of amplified in the same spot, citing "special permission" of the county (which the first group had enjoyed in 2008).

Nice attempt at deflection.

have a sarcasm emoticon and that, for some people's benefit, I should remember to use it.

FYI, I'm with you on this.

Jeez.

9. "Geez," indeed.
Am I embarrassed.

I, who am too clever by half, fell into the same stupid trap I've laughed at others for.

No. Don't use the "sarcasm" tag. I never do. I apologize for misreading and missing the intent.

Peace.

10. Things are getting very strange in Florida, especially with the free speech. They just voted to
privatize the sidewalk in another city just down the road!! St. Petersburg I believe...
