On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, The Energy and Commerce Committees Health Subcommittee held a hearing on The EARLY Act (H.R. 1740 and S. 994). With 371 co-sponsors in the House and 34 authors in the Senate, the EARLY Act is even closer to its goal of raising awareness of breast cancer and providing resources for young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

This week, The American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network supported The EARLY Act legislation introduced by Reps. Wasserman Schultz and Myrick in the House of Representatives and Sens. Klobuchar and Snowe in the Senate to help young women and providers identify the specific threats and warning signs of breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen For The Cure, the largest breast cancer advocacy organization in the world had already endorsed the legislation seeking to raise awareness of young women.
