A group of Rochester, MN voters gathered at Senator Amy Klobuchar's office in Rochester to plead for health care reform now! They are tired of the destruction caused by insurance companies in the present sick system.

God bless their hearts.

1. May the gods bless these wonderful folks
But alas the watering down has been such a cloud burst of acid rain the bill is no longer palatable. They have sold us on robust public option while never really intending to provide one; Scrooching around in back rooms to sell the people out while singing the praises of a robust public option all the while never intending any such thing; Passing an Orwellian bait and switch plan without us knowing it. Flim flam as an art form; They are playing a vicious, cynical shell game with the lives of those who busted their asses to get them elected.

2. When I emailed Amy regarding single payer or public option she
answered that she would do what was best for MN because we have such a good health care program already.

She is right about that BUT in the last 10 years all of our government run plans have turned to private insurance to cover costs. The plan (Medicaid, Medicare, Minnesota Care) all pay the premiums to the insurance company of our choice. This means that we are already using the plan without a public option. Once a year we can switch to another plan. Our social services offices cannot give any advice on which plan to pick and that is really difficult on seniors who do not understand what is going on. The companies all call you all the time to join their senior advantage plans which is the plan that President Obama says costs medicare so much. A lot of what they are talking about is already visible in MN. But no public option. I am not even sure that I can get out of the advantage program and back to plain Medicare anymore.

It is no surprise that she is holding out on a public option.

3. Hardly recognize Rochester when I went thru it last.
Changes so much. Went there often when I lived in Lewiston MN about 40 miles east of there. (tiny town)
1987-1991. Miss the ol Wongs down there. Think they retired, there's a Wongs somewhere, but not quite the same.

It's cool to see an older crowd supporting this. :)
