I'm sure we've all met people whose default position is to tell a lie, rather than the truth. It doesn't matter if the issue is big or small, they just can't help lying. Such people assume that everyone else is like them, and that everybody else lies all the time as SOP.

They realize that a very small percentage of the population serve in the military, so they feel free to take pot shots at their opponents, impugning their patriotism etc because they know that the odds are with them that their opponent hasn't served, either. I would hope the good guys in the talking head/pundit class got the message and begin to confront the chickenhawks with their cowardice, as did Markos.

and walk away by bringing up his deferment. That's not germaine to this debate.
While I'm sure it feels good to slam these guys for their hypocrisy, we lose the
moral high ground when we sully a conversation about specific issues with
character assasination.
