minorities and other cultures are often much more familial than most people in the West tend to be. I am a Blackfeet Indian, my cousins are basically like brothers and sisters to myself and my brothers. Chances are he's much closer to his cousin than most people in this country are to theirs. Also it probably sounds like the family designated him to do the interview, it sounds like they are all together right now, he makes several comments to that effect.

it seems for being Muslim and being against the war.

he was happy in his job in the military but did NOT want to go to the war zone

He had hired an attorney to try to avoid going to the war zone

and that he was upset by what he was hearing from the returning soldiers

the crawl said he had had poor performance reviews at Walter Read (was it because he was a Muslim opposed to the war?)

I agree that this is ultimatley Bush's fault --- but Obama should be bringing the troops HOME NOT deploying more and more into these nightmares of destruction and terror.
