Rep. Cantor Blames Dems For Extreme Signs At GOP Protests
9 minutes ago by Matt Finkelstein

Like previous right-wing protests, today's rally on Capitol Hill featured no shortage of disturbing and offensive images. Think Progress captured a photo of one sign explicitly comparing health care reform to the Holocaust. It read "National Socialist Health Care: Dachau, Germany - 1945." Luke Russert also observed signs reading "Get the Red Out of the White House," "Waterboard Congress," "Ken-Ya Trust Obama?" and "Un-American McCarthyite" (with a picture of Nancy Pelosi):

Unlike other protests, this one was not only attended but also organized by Republican members of Congress. These people came to DC -- signs and all -- at the request of the GOP.

But shortly after addressing the crowd, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) actually blamed Democrats for the hateful images on display. In an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, Cantor suggested that the signs were the mere result of "frustration" over the democratically elected majority's "extreme policies." Mitchell pushed him to say whether he's "comfortable with those attacks against the President of the United States," but Cantor quickly changed the subject:

CANTOR: Listen, I don't think we should engage in personal attacks. But I think, and what I take the message from the gathering of tens of thousands of people on the steps of the Capitol today, and the elections on Tuesday, is the fact that, you know what, we need some balance here in Washington.

According to the Capitol Police, the crowd was around 4,000 people -- far smaller than Cantor's "tens of thousands" estimation.

5. Republicans need a bigger seat at the table?!!!
That piece of shit- for six years the Republicans had the ONLY seat at the table!

And that 'Un American McCarthyite' sign- Seems to me a few years ago my right-wing friends were telling me McCarty was one of the good guys- You know who's a McCartyite? Michelle Bachmann!

Republican definition of bipartisanship: We tell you how it's going to be, and you don't argue with us.
Fuck you, Eric Cantor!

7. What the Heck is wrong with Democrats
that they let these nuts keep getting the upper hand. Why aren't our people in front of the camera denoucing this mess. AND WHY IN THE HECK ISN'T BACHMAN LOCKED UP. Inciting to riot is a federal offense if they incite to appear on federal grounds isn't it.

when they first began this shit, that was when I began noticing the bluedogs and the Dems who also didn't like the fact that Obama was president.

Now,it has gone so far that SOME now realize how crazy they really are, these people really think that they are the majority of the country.

Who in the hell wants these crazy mfers running the country again except other stupid,ignorant,crazy,mfers...

14. The Republicans deserve a bigger seat at the table????
They shoved the Democrats off to the kiddie table while they were in power. If they were so interested in actually helping people in this country, they had a looooong time to do it. Instead, they decided to rape us and call it "freedom". This asshat makes me want to vomit. He is so full of himself that I am shocked he doesn't explode. He is a smarmy walking, talking billboard for Republican talking points, but offers no solutions, just rhetoric and vileness.
