In the warm glow of Michele Bachmann's smile, one of your government 'tea baggers' Rep Todd Akin (R-MO) claims the higher moral ground about the Pledge of Allegiance, noting that Liberals hate it when Americans say the pledge... and then he proceeds to lead the group in messing it up in a rush to say 'under God'.

Nice move. Way to show your specialness in a big way. Someone should tell the representative that healthcare also includes MENTAL healthcare and he will get him some.

3. The Weavers had to perform in clubs while blacklisted in the Fifties.

A member of the audience yelled at Ronnie Gilbert "Why don't you sing 'The Star Spangled Banner'?", obviously not a Weavers fan.

Ronnie smiled at him and said, "All right, let's sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' when you're sober".

7. Was that the old church lady over his left shoulder?

I love looking at the crowd around speakers. Do I want to be like them?...or them? I say that loosely, as I really don't want to be like any of them. But when I look over the shoulders of these repukes speaking, I would HATE to have any of those folks for neighbors and family. Unfortunately, we all do. They just look pissy and hostile.

(Except for michelle bachmann-types...they are the goofy loon nieghbors that seem to embarrass themselves whenever they open their mouths.)

19. Can this guy recite the 26 letters of the alphabet in order? (don't answer that)
He's probably one of those who thinks the word he forgot to say is "invisible" instead of "indivisible."

He obviously does NOT know the pledge was written by not only a "libbrul," but a socialist who expressly
said his pledge was NOT to be tampered with.

21. Interesting that he leaves out the word "indivisible"...
Because, as is becoming increasingly apparent, we are totally divided.

I offer up this alternate Pledge:

I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States Of America
And to the Republicans whom I can't stand
One nation, under the deity of your choice
Completely divided
With liberty and justice for those who can afford a good lawyer.
