1. oh shit.
Nothing like radical right wing LIBERALS! Damn this shit makes me mad. If so, that is going to include many scientists who have differing opinions. But BY GOD in the 21st Century adults are NOT ALLOWED TO DISAGREE without being hanged! :grr:

3. I can see how mad you are!
You're so mad that you felt the need to post this, at absolute maximum, 2:59 into a 9:18 video. Damn, now that's some rapid response anger right there!

You were so mad that the whole gist of the video -- global warming / climate change are facts, not "opinions" -- sailed right over your head.

You were even so mad that you didn't take a minute to think how ridiculous you look after posting what you did with a sig that talks about saving a few square feet of rain forest.

My prescription? Anger management. And a clue.

:eyes:

fuckin a I just lurve this place anymore.

asshole. I've heard Gore's testimony before Congress. Disgusting. He's in it for the bucks. Should he hang too?

People have DIFFERING OPINIONS. Scientists too! Just because you've got your mind made up doesn't mean there is no additional information. Hint. Watch the 2012 show on SiFi on November 8, 2009. ALL the planets are heating up. Is our CO2 reaching JUPITER? I hate know it all Muthufucks.

The link I post doesn't mandate CARBON TAXES OR money in Gore's pockets.

I bet you are all of what, 19 years old? Grown ups know better.

btw. you can get a clue on how to post images. Pathetic.

9. I'm 40, asshole.
You don't like how I posted the image? Wow, my life is ruined now, Muthufuck.

By the way, what the fuck is a "Muthufuck", asshole?

"All the planets are heating up." Goddamn, that's rich, asshole. You ever bother to check out the Climate Crock of the Week videos, Muthufuck? I know you have a serious attention deficit problem, asshole, but you might learn something by sitting through the entire eight, nine, ten minutes which would make you look a lot less fucking stupid, Muthufuck. The guy who does those does an awesome job of dispelling right-wing talking point myths like you seem to enjoy perpetuating because you don't seem to know any better, Muthufuck asshole.

I hate ignorant, uneducated asshole Muthufucks who pose as "progressives", asshole.

Now go have yourself a nice night.

Muthufuck.

Sun Blamed for Warming of Earth and Other Worlds

Earth is heating up lately, but so are Mars, Pluto and other worlds in our solar system, leading some scientists to speculate that a change in the sun’s activity is the common thread linking all these baking events.

Others argue that such claims are misleading and create the false impression that rapid global warming, as Earth is experiencing, is a natural phenomenon.

While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species.

Wobbly Mars

Habibullo Abdussamatov, the head of space research at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, recently linked the attenuation of ice caps on Mars to fluctuations in the sun's output. Abdussamatov also blamed solar fluctuations for Earth’s current global warming trend. His initial comments were published online by National Geographic News.

“Man-made greenhouse warming has small contribution the warming on Earth in recent years, but cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance,” Abdussamatov told LiveScience in an email interview last week. “The considerable heating and cooling on the Earth and on Mars always will be practically parallel."

But Abdussamatov’s critics say the Red Planet’s recent thawing is more likely due to natural variations in the planet’s orbit and tilt. On Earth, these wobbles, known as Milankovitch cycles, are thought to contribute to the onset and disappearance ice ages.

“It’s believed that what drives climate change on Mars are orbital variations,” said Jeffrey Plaut, a project scientist for NASA’s Mars Odyssey mission. “The Earth also goes through orbital variations similar to that of Mars.”

As for Abdussamatov’s claim that solar fluctuations are causing Earth’s current global warming, Charles Long, a climate physicist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratories in Washington, says the idea is nonsense. (...)

Oh! But all those NASA scientists have been DEBUNKED by Fat Greedy Al! I bet you're one of those who hate alternative health care because they MAKE MONEY. But good ole Al comes along with a Billion Dollar motive, and you're peachy.

I do not doubt that we have significant green issues! But Carbon Taxes and executing dissidents is NOT THE SOLUTION.
You're willingness to accept those bogus cures tells volumes.

You're ugly.

20. I don't believe in labeling
peaceful people as war criminals, so I'm a "denier". We can't even get REAL war criminals on trial.

You have no other weapon than to attack the messengers. Quite telling. Of course that tactic renders your POV null and void.

4. I don't recall every war criminal tried at the Hauge being "killed".
But should they be put on trial for spreading misinformation and confusion in the name of lining corporate pockets at the expense of our only planet? Fuck yes.

Get a grip.

8. Carbon taxes are not going to be optional.
Unless this legislation is blocked, the only recourse is to live more simply. Which I already do.
If we pay our share of TAXES, will you STFU? What else do you want besides blood for differing ideas? We won't have any CHOICE but to go along with the Richie Richensteins who are going to profit from the climate hysteria. Happy NOW? You think YOU'RE going to benefit. Hell no. GROW UP!

16. Enjoy your video's Peter
Out of curiosity, are we expected to break the high temperature record next year? How much of an impact is this El Nino expected to have? Plus what kind of sun cycle is expected for 2010? You mentioned it in one of your video's but is their anything new to add?

If we break the record I can just hear them now: "But 2010 was an El Nino year, they are always hotter". Sooner or later as we keep breaking records whether next year or five years from now, the public is going to get back on board. I just hope it won't be too late to start enacting real changes. Was watching the debate they had on ABC in Australia about the Swindle movie and it was very refreshing to see the coal industry along with others, starting to self regulate because they realize if there is no life on earth down the road then business won't be so good.

The fact is people believe what they want to believe and until records start breaking again, minds won't start changing. People are too lazy and too stubborn to take an honest look at the facts.

Out of curiosity, do you know much about climate patterns in the Ice Age? For example, how much more moisture was their in states like New Mexico and Arizona? The research is all over the place from it not being any wetter and just colder to the SW getting double the moisture of today. From what I understand there was a southern branch of the Jet Stream that brought a lot of moisture to the SW during the winter but data is now indicating a sub-tropical source during the summer. Based on their being Blue Spruce needles in Pack Rat middens at 5,000 feet which is 4,000 feet below their current elevation, double the moisture seems more likely than just cooler temps. To explain my curiosity on this, I am publishing a book about Ice Age America. See here: http://www.canlandia.com/id12.html

I sure enjoy your video's and have passed them along to dozens of people in debates. My Dad was also very impressed with your work. ABC or CBS or CNN should give you your own show. If they did the world would be better for it.

18. thanks
per Gavin Schmidt at NASA, next year will most likely be warm enough to give the doubters pause -
should certainly put an end to the "global cooling" meme for now.
Depends on how hot and how long the el nino is.
see
http://climateprogress.org/2009/11/03/el-nino-enso-sea-surface-temperatures/

don't have much specific info on the ice age vs precipitation.

The important news is that, among the decision makers, corporate and political,
we are winning the information battle. The Green economy is picking up speed.
Soon it will be unstoppable, but we need some policies to accelerate
even faster, and keep from shooting ourselves in the foot.
Hope to start a series on renewable solutions soon.

thanks for passing the vids around. Haven't heard anything from CNN yet. ;^)

12. "Astroturf" is a term that has been in use for at least 20 years
It means fake grassroots movement, ginned up usually by a wealthy
and powerful interest group, to give the impression that a "spontaneous"
popular movement exists around a certain issue. The
TeaParty movement qualifies.
It is analogous to a climate denying troll posing as a
regular DU reader and posting grossly ignorant canards
to this thread.

So how bout we cut the shit and get real while there's still a window of time available

Thanks CherylK for this post, These lies need to be exposed for what they are

22. K&R. We have had 25 years of "gollly scientists disagree,"
hanging on to the 0.2% of scientists who don't think industrialization caused the severe atmospheric deterioration that has warmed up our atmosphere and caused accelerated melting of glaciers and ice sheets all over the planet, and warmed our oceans, and threatens to disrupt ocean currents we have depended upon for a more stable climate.

Exxon Mobil paid a lot of money to keep the "controversy" going when more of the effects of severe atmospheric deterioration became evident.

http://www.democracynow.org/2005/4/22/report_exxonmobil_spends_millions_funding_global

In the 80's climate change warnings were made but we were given the milder scenarios of what could happen if CO2 levels continued to rise, so people just brushed their concerns away.

In the 90's, with levels still rising, the more serious scenarios were discussed and many nations responded with the Kyoto Protocols.

The USA, however, decided to hang with the 1% of scientists who pushed all kinds of other explanations for the warming and told us things wouldn't be so bad.

Here we are in the 2000's, seeing more of the dire consequences unfolding, getting ready for Copenhagen, facing right wingers who want to continue pretending that our atmospheric deterioration is not so bad. Maybe they don't have kids and grand kids. I don't either but I can see and hear and read. If we have the ability to reduce the severity of the effects of atmospheric deterioration, let's do it.
