...if your plan is to have the President of the United States serve as a figurehead with popular appeal while the privileged and powerful rape the country's democratic institutions and wage war on what's left of the middle class. It's what the right-wing initiated with Ronald Reagan, and it worked great.

After eight years of a Palin administration, this country would be that much closer to a banana republic, with gated communities for the very rich surrounded by oceans of working poor toiling at Wal-Mart-style jobs with few, if any, benefits. (We're halfway there already.)

Indeed, Palin has sufficient lowbrow appeal that that she can work that very special brand of right-wing magic and somehow get the people who are being devastated by her policies to cheer her on. Notice how twice he used the phrase "not sophisticated enough" to hypothesize about how liberals view Sarah Palin and how they view the anti-Obama faction. He insults his constituents and attributes it to liberals and Obama, and at the same time taints the very idea of being sophisticated, thus making it unacceptable to be intelligent and think for one's self. It's a talent, andone that is terribly misused in two areas--the emotional abuser who convinces his victim that he is his or her only friend in a world that they are not equipped to handle, and the manipulative, propagandizing arm of the Right Wing.
