.

Summary: This video is from TYT's new YouTube channel, . Cenk and CEO of Overstock.com Patrick Byrne discuss President Obama's proposed regulations for the financial industry. Byrne thinks the main issue is not so much about more or less regulation, but rather that the regulators themselves are basically owned by Wall Street.

3. Should I call collect?
I'll tell you how you get the government back from the moneyed interests -- take the money out of politics. There's two ways to do that: (1) let the patricians like the Kennedys, Roosevelts, Rockefellers, hold all the elective offices of (2) public financing of campaigns with some ridiculously small donation limit, like $20, limited to individuals. The first method is rather elitist, but if we could have more politicians like FDR and Ted Kennedy, that would be a good thing. Unfortunately, the patricians are more likely to produce a plethora of shrubs and that is practically what we have now. The second method is the only one in which competent people will rise to the occasion and do the bidding of the people.
