The story about Murdoch's attempt to take on the BBC starts at 58 secs in and finishes at 8 mins 30 secs. Murdoch Jr says that the BBC is a threat to "Independent journalism". WTF? I guess he hopes that none of his audience know about the right wing ideologically driven corpocratic nature of his father's "news" channel in the US. They are obviously worried that the BBC's global presence is a threat to their agenda of spreading neocon propaganda across the world. It is also a clear sign that they are feeling the pinch with falling advertising revenue.
Included in this is actually a good but brief insight into Faux Vs the BBC's coverage of the Iraq war, too.
I hope Al Jazeera English continues to expose Murdoch's evil empire like this. One thing they didn't mention is that, as well as India, Star TV is broadcast in Malaysia and Indonesia. Faux has just started being broadcast across the whole of Indonesia as well which is totally inappropriate, considering its heavy Neocon & racist slant. At least BBC World & Al Jazeera English are also broadcast across Indonesia as very worthy antidotes, though.
The UK's Independent had a good article about this Murdoch Vs BBC battle last Sunday. Judging by what's mentioned in it, If Britain's CONservatives win their next election the Brits can expect to have a Faux News type channel there too, no doubt:
