Not sure if this was posted already, I was away at the time, but I loved Brad Paisley's (spoken) introduction. The music? Not so much :-)

1. I like his music...
And I'm a metal head:) He's got an old school feel with fun lyrics.

What an honor for him!

2. I liked the other selection that he performed better than the one on this video.

He does have talent as a song writer and guitar player---and I am not normally a big fan of country music.

Plus, his heart is in the right place!

3. He comes from a good blue collar
family just down the road, he watches CNN not Fox. FYTK and Trace Atkins.

5. I'm not usually a country music fan, but that song was
awesome.

I love the sentiment and after hearing that he was inspired to write it by being in Times Square on Election Day, I teared up when he got to the last verse about Rosa Parks and MLK Jr.

His intro was moving too..."You are the first President my kids will remember."

6. Love Brad P. and that
was Alison Kraus with him it at the beginning. She is as close to an angel's voice as you can get on earth.

8. Welcome to the Future
I usually like Brad Paisley's songs, and "Welcome to the Future" is one of the best. There's some really good country & western. It's actually improved in the past few decades--country music of the Patsy Kline period is pretty well on the lousy side. There was a great program on TV some years ago about the relationship of country music to Irish music. I was so sad when one of the singers, who gave a great rendition of "Galway Girl", came on Prairie Home Companion early in 2005 and said he'd voted for Bush. I know it's supposed to be the music of redneck-cracker-poor-white-trailer-trash Bush Republicans, but in Illinois where I live trailer trash vote Democratic.
P.S. Do I have to use the sarcasm thingy?

9. That's funny - I would say the exact opposite.
"country music of the Patsy Kline period is pretty well on the lousy side"

I liked old Kitty Wells and Hank Williams Sr., Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn way better than the new country, which to me sounds as if it was conceived of and written in a WalMart. Not necessarily unpleasant, but I change the station if it comes on the radio.
