54. ah, but...
MM handled it brilliantly. I can see how he anticipated who he was talking to and the comeback to that ignorant loudmouth ("Star") about calling it "Christianized" medicine was nothing short of a master stroke.

Michael Moore was prepared; he knew what he was going up against.

The other master stroke was when he responded that government can do things right and how he used Social Security as his major example. He then reached back into our past, the America that we could take some pride in, and offered other examples. You could hear the positive response in the audience, just as the Gore answer was comprehended and seized upon.

That was a good move because we are all crying out for some pride and self respect as a country. We are so sick of incompetence and how we have to settle for less. MM is reminding us that we have done great things as a nation and we can do this right if we put our minds to it.

65. Michael Moore did an absa-fucking-lutely wonderful job.
My God. The man has learned. He has gone to the mountain. He has studied the enemy and he has arrived. He sound like the only one rational on the set AND he gave answers that not even a right-winger could argue with.

No clue what the sister was rambling on about, by the way. I thought she said she was on welfare once, and yet, her comments, the best I could gather, sound very right-wing.

Does she actually believe-AFTER seeing the film- that the government is LESS capable of dealing with health care than a for profit insurance system??

17. The Liberal-free media
I thought the audience reaction was very telling. Applause for Moore's points and silent toleration for the "Jesus wants us to let people die in the streets" woman.

It seems like there should be someone among that shows hosts that is more aligned with the audience POV. If there are four hosts, then they should have 4 points of view but maybe the title is a clue -- one RW point of view -- The View.

Today Bon Jovi was on, he politely shook Lizzy’s hand and gave the rest of the women hugs. It was so obvious he doesn’t like EH.

After Jovi sang, EH went over to him in order to close the segment. EH put her arm around him, - he held his body so far away from her...it was as if he didn’t want to be photographed with her.

Their religion is not based on the teachings of Jesus, who btw was never a Christian. Their beliefs are based on the teachings of Paul, who was the first fundamentalist Christian. Paul was sorta a 'Convert or Else' Christian who believed that it wasn't good works that got you into heaven but converting as many folks as possible.

You want to see a true Paulists - Check out the Chick Tracts

As a woman, watching these women act in such a wildly unprofessional manner is nothing but an embarrassment. All they are actually interested in is calling attention to themselves and futhering their so-called "careers." With such creatures in the public eye, no wonder there is still doubt about women's capacity to lead. They hurt all of us.

that I believe it will discourage new medical research. The alimighty dollar is a powerful thing and when that is taken away people generally don't work as hard. I think it would be a great thing for everyone to have health insurance we just have to be very very careful on how we make that happen.

42. I think the opposite would happen
I know scientists who work for various corporations who feel like R&D is hampered in many ways by the "for profit only" attitude of the pencil pushers up top. If a cure is TOO effective it's rejected. Only treatments that bring CONTINUING revenue to the corporation are seriously considered. Even a few GPs who I know say that group practices discourage treatments that are more effective for the patient but less profitable for the group practice. It's sickening, literally.

49. What good is research if no one can afford the benefits of that research?
Even those of us who are fortunate enough to pay the 10s of thousands of dollars of coverage and expenses a year (I own my own business, so no one pays it for me), the insurance companies don't always cover what they call "experimental" treatments, even those that are FDA approved. I could pay an even higher premium to get those, but I don't think I could afford it.

53. I will never, EVER understand how gays, women, racial minorities,
or the otherwise disenfranchised could align themselves with today's Repuke party. EVER.

As far as I'm concerned, they might as well stick needles in their eyes, and flog themselves, for all the good they will reap out of it.

I truly do NOT understand.

64. It's all about the Money
If you have the bucks then suddenly it doesn't matter about being gay, femail or a racial minorities because you've bought into the religon of the almighty dollar.

Log Cabin Republicans - it's all about money. And I find it extremely pathetic that they would accept a political part that treats homosexuality like a mental deformity just because they've got money.

57. Someone please tell me, why do people watch that crap? And aren't
there women out there, somewhere, anywhere, smarter and more 'professional' (for lack of a better word), or is the point of this crap show to hire and display the most embarrassing women they can find?

58. Hmmmm...
I'm just thankful that our pestilent species cannot wreak havoc beyond the confines of this planet...

When we escape the bonds of these mortal coils, I'm confident that the valuable lessons we will have learned herein will be appreciated--it's just difficult sometimes to 'live' in an environment within which SOOOOOO many are hate-filled and morally bankrupt.
