Says death panels are a ridiculous controversy.

Says over the week-end we will hear that we are indoctrinating their children. They are basing it on a program that is meant to reduce child abuse and lessen placement in foster care. Keith says Michelle Bachmann has already brought it up.

Dean is very disappointed in Conrad.

Reiterates that choice must be in the bill.

Says these protestors are going over the edge. He did praise the guy who asked Obama the question today about how to pay for it. Said that was legitimate and a good question.

1. Luckily, Conrad has already said that report was wrong.

But he said he would not let the government control their insurance....which is what the public option is.

3. Dean spoke to us at a reception tonight. He said "the public option is the compromise, we've

already compromised." The reception was right before this interview.

"The public option is the last shred of reform in this bill. Don't give us a phony bill."

He asked "why are we phonebanking all the time, why aren't we knocking on doors? That's how we got Obama elected. We have power."

In his book 'Howard Dean's Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform' there is a section on myths concerning health care reform. He told us the one myth they didn't address is the myth of "death panels" "because we couldn't image they would go this far.
