1. Wasn't that from the Matrix?
Agent Smith commenting on that. So, Beck is borrowing from a movie?

6. Beck could come out in blackface
Sing 'De Camp Town Ladies", and read chapters out of 'Mein Kampf' and FOX would just look and see if his ratings were up.

8. Wow!
The looks on their faces was priceless. I genuinely enjoyed watching a Glenn Beck clip for the first time ever.

I hope he keeps booking republicans like this. It does a great job of exposing the lunacy of their ideas.

9. I am actually very concerned about the future of our nation.
Edited on Sat Aug-15-09 08:44 AM by olegramps
I have lived long enough to have experienced periods in which there was serious challenges facing the nation and intense differences in opinion, such as in the case of the Korean War, Vietnam, Watergate, Nixon being driven from office and Iran-Contra to name some examples.

There was intense debate, however, it was conducted with a degree of civility that is totally absent in today's political climate. Today, what I see is a total lack civility and polarization in which the right wing has gone to extremes in their attempt to discredit the Obama administration and divide the nation. The airwaves are filled with divisive propaganda that not only stretches the truth but in which outright lies are propagated to destroy the opposition.

But, what is even more disturbing is to see elected representatives engage in the same despicable behavior of resorting to absolute distortions in their determination to destroy the Obama administration. These people are not honorable people worthy of the office as envisioned by our forefathers. They are not discussing the value of certain programs, but engaging in smear tactics and out right lies. The sole intent of the Republicans is to defeat Health Care Reform in hope that it will discredit the Obama presidency and they can once again capture the White House. This is what troubles me the most. When our representatives don't have the character to rise about the vindictiveness to act in the best interest of the nation then indeed our democratic republic is in serious trouble. This is not an distortion of the situation. Republican Representatives have appeared on national programs in which they out right lied to the American public about the proposed legislation.

We may have passed a crucial point in which there is little or no hope for any compromise by either party and the our representative form of government may actually collapse.
