As a former gay football player, I agree with both the apology and the fine. If others see that there are consequences to this type of behavior, maybe they will think twice before talking shit.

The only disappointing part of this video is that the Hawaiian coach didn't consider obtaining Obama's birth certificate for public viewing.

1. Offensive language
I didn't think that F-word was the same F-word in George Carlin's list of the seven you can't use on television. But I guess people's sensibilities change over time. It makes it impossible to do a remake of Mel Brooks' classic 'Blazing Saddles' -- you'd be reduced down to half a dozen lines of dialog.

2. It's strange because once couls say the same
for "All in the Family" which was incredibly funny as well. Depends on the context.

3. Oh, the irony! Ha, ha, ha!
As far as punishment: So he lost some of his income and now he makes a little less but still over a million dollars? Big deal. Fired is what he should have been. His humiliation isn't equivalence. In a position like he has, a person needs to be tactful; he represents the university.

And the b.s. that "everyone talks like that" on the field: That kind of harassment isn't acceptable now, even though it had been institutionalized in baseball, football and basketball regarding blacks.
